BEGINNING TUESDAY, AUGUST 12
Atlanta at N.Y. Mets (3) 12th, 13th, 14th
The Mets have lost seven in a row (-$1155 last 10 days) and now even their hold on a wildcard berth could be in some jeopardy. They have already dropped 5 of 7 to Atlanta in head to head competition (-$300). The Braves, however, are still only 21-37 in road games, and they’ve racked up more losses than any team in MLB (-$4125). We’ll hold off for the time being. BEST BET: None.
Seattle at Baltimore (3) 12th, 13th, 14th
The sizzling hot Mariners have won seven straight (+$800 last 10 days), narrowing Houston’s lead in the AL West to just half a game. They’ll look to exact a measure of revenge following an earlier sweep by the O’s at T-Mobile Park. Seattle is 19-11 vs. lefties (+$995) and they’ll face Trevor Rogers on Wednesday. He’s looked sharp in 10 starts for the home team (1.44 ERA) so Seattle should catch a decent price. BEST BET: Mariners vs. left-handers.
Miami at Cleveland (3) 12th, 13th, 14th
After climbing to .500, the Marlins promptly dropped 4 of 5 to the Braves. They limp into Progressive Field to take on the surging Guardians (8-2, +$710 last 10 days), who are attempting to catch the Tigers in the AL Central. Cleveland has no trouble handling right-handers (46-36, +$985) and they’ll face three of them in this series. Miami has been a top money-maker in 2025, but they are facing a formidable club. BEST BET: Guardians vs. right-handers.
Chicago Cubs at Toronto (3) 12th, 13th, 14th
1st place in the NL Central is fading from sight for Chicago, as the Brewers open up a six game lead in the division. However, they’ve been spectacular vs. right-handers (51-32, +$1255) and they’ll face three of them at Rogers Centre. Nevertheless, it’s hard to go against the Blue Jays, who are 38-19 in home games (+$1535). We’ll stay on the sidelines for the moment BEST BET: None.
