Pending Plays -- Yanks series play -175 (2x)
Angels +153 Game three

Finished plays:
Yanks game two (win)

Yanks 350/200.....This might be the first bet on the Yankees of my life, but the price is too good to pass up for the way the Yankees have dominated the Twins in the past. Yes the Yankee pitching staff is much worse than they are used to, but I still think they are as good as the Twins staff as a whole. Santana is a stud, but Moose is 20-3 lifetime vs the Twins afterall, and the rest of the pitchers in the rotation are equal in my mind. Is Lieber at home any better or worse than Radke on the road? Brown vs Silva? Vasquez vs Lohse? These matchups are a wash to me, but the lineups they will be facing are not comparable. The Yankee lineup is deadly 1-9, and it's a very tall task to ask the Twins 2-4 starters to shut down this crew. Yankees are 21-3 vs the Twins in their last 24, and I just don't think they can know get three wins in five games. The Yankee starters are questionable at best, but this isn't the round that it will be exposed. Yanks in 4.

Only series I'm playing -- will play some individual games along the way and will add them to this thead as I do.

NY is buzzing right now looking forward to the night game. you can be sure that Mussina is on his game. he is no stranger to going against the quality pitchers in the playoffs and i think the home atmosphere will really settle him down early. Yankee offense at this price is worth taking a shot at. I agree completely with the post. Twins just havent figured out this team in the recent meetings and i dont think this will change.

Good Luck on the Yankees series bet. Ithink the Twins win in four. If the Twins do win they must win today. Therefore, I am playing the Twins at close to even money today rather than series play. Santana only pitched 5 inning last week in New York and the yankees looked foolish!

I think the Twins can get this one tonight :help: I think this may be one where they are more excited than the Yanks and could steal one with there Ace on the mound. I get a feeling like I did with the Lakers--lackluster out of the gate and then they kick it in when they need to and win the series. Gonna try to get a win with Santana tonight---GL Blackman!

"I think this may be one where they are more excited than the Yanks"

i dont know how the yanks can not be excited with this game tonight.

it's worth a shot either way in my opinion with these pitchers at their respective prices.

I was just commenting on the idea that this isn't the Yankees first rodeo and the Twins haven't done anything so they are in a different state of mind. The yanks have done this to death so if they aren't pumped up as all hell to play the Minnesota Twins in a Divisional game--i would understand it! Just my crappy theory but it is what it is. GL. I like Santana.

This will be the Twins 4th playoff series in 3 years.
Not sure how you can characterize the Twins as a team
that hasn't done anything unless you typically listen
to the so called "East Coast" baseball writers and talking heads.

So your comparing the Twins success and the Yankees success in the playoffs? That is what I was doing.

Enough---GL to all.

Thanks for all the well wishers --- as we head to the 9th it looks like all of the Twins backers were right, Yanks would be slow out of the box.

One play:

Yankess game 2 -157....must win the Bombers, and they have been in this situation before and always respond (have lost game 1 in last three playoff series and came back to win the 2nd game). Yanks were putting the ball in play, but 5 double plays will kill any team, but this lineup is too potent to get shut out two nights in a row. Backs against the wall, must win situation already, I'll take my chances and lay the wood.

i am going over. Even though i think the cold will give the yanks a huge edge i am not biting on -180. In my other post i talked about both pitchers and how radke's changeup might be effected. I think leiber is far from a number two pitcher and radke will have his hands full with this lineup tonight. Over.

Angels +153 (Game Three)....Just feel the Halos are too gritty of a bunch to go down like this and get swept, they had a never say die attitude with the division and they won't lay down to the Boston here. Angels have hit Arroyo well in the past, albeit in limited action. (11 runs in 8.1 innings pitched.) Escobar has been better on the road all year, and if he steps up should outdue Arroyo. Price is too good for a team with the amount of pride the Angels have.
