O.K., let me put it this way, AR. We label these people enemy combatants, right? We hold them indefinitely, without giving any reason for doing so, other than because we label them enemy combatants. We let them go, without charging them with anything, producing any evidence of being terrorists, doing anything of note against our country. I could search, I suppose, but seems to me if we are holding these people to see if they are bad guys, and end up just letting them go, or just continuing to hold them without showing any proof of anything, then I can probably assume there was no good or provable reason. I think the world knows at this point, that with this administration, their word simply is not good enough, which is my point
.

That is an apples and oranges comparison. No way to connect the two. The Brits were in uniform, under the banner of the UK who is not at war with Iran and not taking hostile action. Plain and simple.

The enemy combatants at Gitmo were not in uniform, may or may not be at war with us - we can't really just take them at their word for it. Hence, we have to lock up suspicious characters in suspicious areas. We had war declared on us by an enemy that hides among the innocent and does there best to blind in - the exact opposite of uniformed soldiers and all international conventions of war. Since they don't play by the rules, the only way is to lock them up until this is over - which aint happening anytime soon. As for any innocents swept up and held, well sorry, they can thank AQ for their troubles.
