When you play a 4-team or 5-team parley and just need the last team for a winner, why do people always want to "buy back" on the last team to make sure you get paid something? Why not just play one less team, then you already have a winner? I guess there could be certain situations that may dictate a buy-back, like you are losing for the day and you want to make sure you break even or win for the day. But if you are going to buy back the last game on a 5-teamer, just play the 4-teamer. Right?

But then the forth team would be the last team and the buy back question would still be asked...

I think it?s all about the size of the bet. If I bet 100 bucks on a 5 teamer I?ll juts let it ride. But if I had bet 10k on a 5 teamer and you get a cash out option of 40 k or can hedge ???? Most would hedge at that point. Guaranteed money. Hard not to hedge or cash out. Especially since you only have a 3% chance of hitting that last game and going 5-0.

Then just play the 10 grand on a 4 teamed if you are going to hedge the 5 th team...right?

When I play a 5-Teamer it's usually for shits and giggles, I'm certainly not banking on it to hit. Once I have 4 teams in the hopper the reality looms much larger and at that point, I'm not going to go home empty-handed. I'm not going to do a 50/50 split as I had already determined that I liked the team I chose over the other so if it pays $1200 and it's a $100 wager (buying points) then I'll play $300 on the other side so I get a consolation prize if the 5-teamer falls through. There are not many times in gambling that you can bank on "guaranteed money" but this is definitely one of those occasions.

I'm sure everybody has their own theories but this is the one that tI have employed for nearly 40 years and I have zero plans on changing it.

Plus, if you play a 4-teamer your payout is much less and so is the margin for backing up the play.

Just my 3 cents.........

You cant be serious???
If you put 100 dollars on a 4 teamer and lay -110 on each you will win 1200. On a 5 teamer 2400 dollars... yes it depends on what your position money wise is...LOL

Pssssst.........Once again, what does a $100 three team parlay pay?

Answer: The $600 you are "locking up" when you buy back that 4th game.

So, his addition is just fine.

The answer to his question is its always best to let it ride for a chance to win 1200 and only risk 100 but if you are down say 800 dollars for the day your going to think about taking that 600 garuntee and your also going to say to yourself hell I can win 1200 and be ahead. It all depends on what your figure is for the day but the real determining issue is how often have you lost that last team in your parlays???

Hey BuddyWrong...you hardly ever make sense on here. You say something, then someone points out your ignorance and you change your tune and pretend to sound like you know what you're talking about...but you're fucking clueless! LOL
