Trio of winners ...
300* WINNER

WHITE SOX

Chicago - The same can be said from Tuesday night with this team - the White Sox have no choice but to treat this game like a sense of urgency - plain and simple. Only now it is this philosophy for the entire series. Now a game back of the Indians, the South Siders need nothing less than a sweep in this four-game series to restore hope in the Windy City. Southpaw Josh Stewart makes his second start of the season for the Sox and the good news for him is that the Indians haven't scored more than five runs in any of their previous 10 games, going 1-9 in that span. Chad Durbin has been shaky, and lost his only start against Chicago this season, bringing his record to 1-5. Look for him to get rocked tonight, led by Carlos Lee, who extended his hitting streak to 11 games in Wednesday's loss to the Tigers. During that streak, he is batting .409 (18-for-44).

PITTSBURGH Easy winner ...
500* WINNER

PITTSBURGH

Steelers - Talk about a mismatch tonight, Pittsburgh should manhandle a decimated Eagles team that is completely banged up, and because of that, has coach Andy Reid throwing up the stop sign on the sidelines for many of his skill position stars for tonight.

Nine players will miss the Pittsburgh contest, including four defensive starters, safety Brian Dawkins, linebacker Dhani Jones, defensive end N.D. Kalu, and defensive tackle Cory Simon. The Eagles will be weak at defensive line and at linebacker as they'll also be without backup DT Sam Rayburn and backup LB's Ike Reese and Jeremiah Trotter.

And with Correll Buckhalter lost for the season with a preseason injury, Reid dropped a broad hint yesterday that Brian Westbrook may watch the game along with Dorsey Levens, who joined the team Monday, and will dress but not play tonight.

That banged up defensive front can only mean one thing for Pittsburgh: a full dose of Duce to ignite that Philadelphia feeling!!! Former Eagle Duce Staley returns to Linc, only now in a Steelers uniform.

The Steelers are coming off an impressive win over Tennessee, and will carry that momentum over from last week, as their defense should have no problem forcing Donovon McNabb into firing mistakes, while keeping an eye on Terrell Owens. Because without any real running threats to worry about, the passing game will be easier to defend.

Guys, state pride is at stake, and no matter what time of year it is, Pitt coach Bill Cowher is too competitive to let this one slip by.

Roll with the Steelers tonight.

New York w/Trachsel over San Diego
I know they have lost three in a row, but I'm giving the m a chance today, to avoid the 4 game sweep, with Trachsel on the mound. If anyone will give the Mets a chance to win this game tonight, it's Steve Trachsel. Stay with New York tonight.

L.A. w/Weaver over Montreal
Everytime I turn around, Jeff Weaver is winning another game for his team. 2-0 in his last three starts, with an ERA of 2.00 !! Very impressive. The Dodgers have taken 5 of the last 7 meeetings. Stay with them again tonight.

Minnesota w/Mullholland over Texas
The Twins are just too good, and they have now won 5 of the last 6 meetings. Mulholland is now 1-1 in his last three starts, with the team going 2-1, nd a 2.57 ERA. Stay with the Twinkies tonight.

PRIVATE PLAYERS OF PITTSBURG

Philadelphia (-3) vs. Pittsburgh 8 pm eastern

The Steelers are PHAT(pretty hot and tempting) It's also one of the reasons why they are FAT. Last year's injury plagued offensive line is more than a step ahead of the 2003 version, not withstanding the loss of Simmons. It's a main reason why they've exploded for 59 points in the first two games. A strong QB rotation of Maddux and Big Ben, one of the leagues best WR rotations, and strong competition at RB, can make you look very good when you are playing the defenses of Detroit and
Houston. It could well be a much different story tonight against a top rated Philly defense which plays at home with 6 days rest. That rest advantage is huge for Philly since the Steelers final 2 days of preseason camp, Monday and Tuesday, were spent in large part signing autographs. Cowher has a lot of player evaluation to do, a main reason why his starters will play no more than one half. The Eagles with a more solidified roaster will look forward to playing their starters into the third quarter highlighting the skills of their off season acquisitions Owens and Kearse.

Final Philly 21 Steelers 16!

LA vs Montreal

Another nice 4* winner here last night and here is thursday's 4* play.
When these two teams take the field tonite they will do so having played 8-3-1 to the over their last 12 meetings. LA has gone 6-1-1 to the over in their last 8 road games and these two teams qualify in three of my systems that are 17-3 over. Also Kelley has gone 6-2 over his last 8 behind the plate, so guys you know what the play is OVER!

4* LA/Montreal over 8

MLB-Detroit/Boston OVER the Total 10
Thursday Aug 26 7:05 ET
The Tigers have gone OVER in 11 of their L15 road games while the Red Sox have a 40-19 O/U record at home in 2004. Four of the L5 meetings in this series have gone OVER the Total. Todays starting pitchers Arroyo(Boston)5.12 ERA and Detroit(Johnson)5.12 ERA have not been in top form of late.(Stats are for L3 starts),Both pitchers are righthanders . Boston has hit righties at.303 clip at home in Fenway this season while Detroit have hit them at a .292 clip over their L10 games and a .282 average in 2004.

Thursday Night Delaney Decision - Eagles

PHILADELPHIA by 13 over Pittsburgh

The Eagles will be playing their starters deep into the third quarter according to Andy Reid. He is using this game as the final prep for the starters.

Pittsburgh head coach Bill Cowher has indicated his starters will play at least the 1st quarter and maybe some of the 2nd quarter. The Steelers are coming off a huge blowout win over Houston and will have a tough time getting up for this road game off a short week of practice.
