Scott, ur growing on me here. Sounds like ur wife is very fortunate to have u take care of her and stick it out thru this horrible time. I know there's a lot more u could say too; nobody knows how difficult it is to do what u did until they have done it, and most fail.

There is a certain group of people who would love to slice that award down to 200.000. Funny how most of the guys congratulating Scotty would vote for those same people. The irony.

Isn't that the truth. :mj07: :mj07:

Good job, Scott.

You are as bad as Ray turning this thread to something political. And Tramp keeps it going.

Unreal what some have to go through at the expense of others. After reading what he and his wife went through with the pain and medication. They should have received much more. Hopefully with the surgery they can move on to some semblance of a good life. Have a good one KOD.

Scott, sorry you had and are having to go thru all of this. My sister went thru the exact same thing except she didn't get any money out of the other insurance company.

I will say that hopefully your wife is off or lowering the pain medication. My sister never stopped and she's never been the same. I've heard it happens a lot but to see someone you love go thru it really hurts.

Sounds like you're one of the good guys. I salute you for staying with her and fighting thru this. I know people will say you're suppose to stick with your wife thru things like this but unless you've been there you will never know. Between pain killers my sister could be an absolute b$tch and that's not normally her but after years of her being that way it's hard to remember the old days.

She was as fortunate as your wife, my brother in law eventually had an affair and walked.

Nah it isn't political it at. It is all about my disdain for hypocrites. That's it. You, homedog, Kneif, Weasel should not be thanking him and all should be pissed that he got over 200.000 unless, that is, you are hypocrites. :0008

The thread is about the Family KOD,
their suffering and hardships.

Politics shouldn't have to be used and wielded
as and extra point here.

Seems strange coming from ME, huh?

Check your political cape at the door !

Mrs KOD was/is AFU

They won deservedly so, maybe not
what they really deserved, but now he
can bail more water out of the boat.

Leave it alone, be happy or angry that they
got this judgement, but FFS
just stop the small bitch slap fight,

Sponge makes a good point. Some of you fucks want caps on this shit then come in here all happy cause its the nice thing to do. Just laughable. Scott didn't get anywhere near enough but its probably as much as he could realistically get. And what does that say about this country?

But I don't wanna clutter this thread so that is it from me in here. Glad Scott got this settled and some closure. My apologies for adding on to sponge's comments. GL Scott. Maybe now you can stop buying points.

thanks layin

one of the most remarkable things that happened out of this whole 5 yr deal is that my wife stopped taking morphine on her own.

I was warned by many of her doctors that this could be a rehab situation for her.
I had found a place in Tampa, near where my Dad lives that was ready to take her. It was expensive.

After her operation, and she started feeling better, she told me she was going to gradually stop taking the morphine. I gave her a certain amount of the pills and hid the rest.

After 3 months she was not taking morphine.

I have been told it is more addictive than heroin.

Just thankful for alot of things. Especially that she has some back pain from time to time, but overall she is able to carry on with our normal lives now.

Took the day off Thursday and we picked up the settlement check.

All the lawyers and the staff were there to congratulate us and the glad hand all around.

Not that much paperwork to sign. I did read every word on everything before my wife signed and we asked a few questions.

The only snafu is the company my wife worked for made her sign that she would pay them back for any money they paid for surgerys etc, if there was a settlement.

The wording in the handbook was screwed up and our lawyer refused to pay them anything. Now he has a lawyer looking into it and we could actually end up in Federal court.

So they are holding 50k in escrow until it is resolved. I am fine with that. He said they could negotiated that and we would end up with half or better within 5 yrs at the longest.

Made a appointment and went to the bank and made the deposit with their financial manager.

Just glad that part is over as well.

It still has not completely sunk in for either of us.

But its time to get on with our lives now.

We are going to think about things and try to decide what is best for us now. I dont like change, but it will be a good change.
