Scott, sorry you had and are having to go thru all of this. My sister went thru the exact same thing except she didn't get any money out of the other insurance company.
I will say that hopefully your wife is off or lowering the pain medication. My sister never stopped and she's never been the same. I've heard it happens a lot but to see someone you love go thru it really hurts.
She was as fortunate as your wife, my brother in law eventually had an affair and walked.

one of the most remarkable things that happened out of this whole 5 yr deal is that my wife stopped taking morphine on her own.
I was warned by many of her doctors that this could be a rehab situation for her.
I had found a place in Tampa, near where my Dad lives that was ready to take her. It was expensive.
After her operation, and she started feeling better, she told me she was going to gradually stop taking the morphine. I gave her a certain amount of the pills and hid the rest.
After 3 months she was not taking morphine.
I have been told it is more addictive than heroin.
Just thankful for alot of things. Especially that she has some back pain from time to time, but overall she is able to carry on with our normal lives now.
