On the course!
I know....I know......Tampa Bay's defense.

Still, with the big second half showing yesterday, I have to think this team can score some points in this game.

How is Tampa going to score?

This is just a quick look, and not taking it yet, but it sure looks nice!

I always need a damn good reason to take the road team in the second week of the playoffs. I'm sure someone will post the numbers sometime this week, but the team with the BYE covers this week a remarkable amount of the time.

The rest is one thing, but as has been mentioned before, the lines can be low because everyone sees these teams go out and dominate on wild card weekend (jets and falcons, e.g.) and falls in love with them.

TB will have a lot more answers for the SF receivers than the Giants did.

You ask how is TB going to score.....how will San Fran score? They took advantage of a very tired defense in the second half yesterday. Tampa's strength is stopping these finesse teams. IMO, San Fran is very soft; probably the second softest team in the post-season behind Indianapolis.

And don't forget that 9 consecutive ATS loss thing SF has going for it.

Dunno which way to go yet. But remember that Tampa Bay is the team that figured out how to defend the St. Louis Rams. The Niners play a similar style to the Rams.

public is all over wild card winners every year.....great opportunity to take a team who looked great the previous week getting points......

value is on other side of line.....bye week + wild card teams have to duplicate performance to win....tough to do...especially in the NFL

"the bunker"
in my opinion

in my opinion

san fran doesn`t belong...i still don`t know how they won yesterday...i`m heading over to read some ny papers...they must have skewered the giants....the giants just manhandled the 49ers for nearly 3/4 of the game....from the giants driving downfield on the first drive and the tipped pass interception to the first 49er td(a fluke),to the dropped td by shockey....but,i am seriously glad the 9ers won...this game sets up perfectly..i just bought down to 4.....i think this will be an easy winner.....take the home team that plays defense...49er "d" is a sieve....every star in the universe had to align just right for what happened sunday to happen...tampa should dominate...always take the dominant "d"(especially at home)....aside from the packer fold(many thought the pack didn`t want to be there),we saw this weekend that homefield can win you games in the playoffs, even if you aren`t the better club.....in this case, you have the much better club with an enormous defensive edge at home...

went back and checked...now up to 5....if you like san fran, you might want to wait a bit...i see a 6 in your future...

agree with you freeze, I see some value in the favs this week, especially Oakland and TB. Don't see the Jets running against Parella/Adams.

really THINK THIS LINE GETS TO AROUND 5.5 OR 6 BY GAME TIME...HOW OFTEN HAVE WE SEEN SANFRAN GETTING THAT MANY POINTS THIS YEAR?....SURE THIER AGAINST THE SPREAD RECORD IS ATROCIOUS BUT IF MEMORY SERVES ME CORRECT THE MOST POINTS THIS TEAM HAS RECIEVED AS A DOG THIS YEAR IS 3....SO IF THE LINE MOVES AS I THINK IT WILL A PLAY ON THIS DOG IS WORTH A SHOT...IF SANFRAN CAN GET ANY INKLING OF A RUNNING GAME GOING WHICH IS GOING TO BE TOUGH AGAINST THE DEFENSE THEY WILL BE IN THIS GAME...INTERESTINGLY PHILLY WHICH RUNS THE WEST COAST OFFENSE HAD SUCCESS ON THE GROUND AGAINST THIS TEAM..THINK THEY RAN FOR AROUND 150 YDS....AND YES mCNABB WAS A BIG PART OF THAT STAT BUT GARCIA IS JUST AS SHIFTY AS MCNABB WHEN A PLAY BREAKS DOWN...I THINK THATS THE TYPE OF OFFENSE AND QB THAT TAMPA MAY HAVE PROBLEMS WITH...AND DONT FORGET TAMPA DIDNT EXACTLY ENTER THE PLAYOFFS PLAYING LIKE GANG BUSTERS...THEY LOST TO PITT AT HOME AND PLAYED A CHICAGO TEAM WITH A THIRD STRING QB AND ONLY WON 15-0....TAMPA IS BUILT FOR PLAYING WITH LEADS NOT COMING BACK....IF SANFRAN CAN GGET UP EARLY ..TAMPA MAY HAVE SOME PROBLEMS...IM NOT CONVINCED BRAD JOHNSON IS 100% NOR AM I CONVINCED THAT HE MAKES GOOD DECISIONS DURING CRITICAL TIMES.....A MISTAKE HERE AND THERE BY JOHNSON IS NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION...ESPECIALLY COMING BACK FROM AN INJURY....SAY WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT THIER PLAY IN THE FIRST THREE QUARTERS YESTERDAY...BUT THE GIANTS HAVE BEEN PLAYING SOME GREAT FOOTBALL THE LAST FEW WEEKS OF THE SEASON...THEY DOMINATED THAT PHILLY GAME IN EVERY PHASE EXCEPT THE SCOREBOARD...AND THE NINERS WERE ABLE TO COME BACK ON THEM YESTERDAY..THERE IS SOMETHING TO BE SAID ABOUT THAT.....IF THIS LINE HITS 5.5 OR 6 IM ON THE NINERS..IF NOT I'LL WATCH THIS GAME AS A FAN

Nice job guys, and the thing that I feel that is going to be different this year for Tampa Bay is their H.C. John Gruden.

Indianapolis experienced first hand what it is like to have Tony Dungy as a HC.

Gruden will have them ready for this game. They will shut down the 49ers. Gruden knows he has the team and situation to take the next step. this is what TB hired him for.

Hooks...you are probably right....I posted earlier in Locks thread, but I think I will just watch this game as a fan. In my opinion, it can go either way and I hate bothh teams! I am just very happy San Fran beat the Giants! who I hate even more. TBis a tough place to play! Gruden vs Walsh

:topic: IF any play Ilike it will be Philly over Atl....Just like many times in the past...it is not yet Vicks turn. This is Philly's year! They IMO WILL GO TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!!

I was just looking at some numbers on how the Bucs did against other mobile Quarterbacks.

Michael Vick- in 2 games gained a total of 16 yards rushing the football ( granted he did get knocked out of game 1 but still only managed 15 yards in game 2 )

Mcnabb- 4 yards

Brooks- 14 yards in 2 games

Just a little F.Y.I.

Niners 0-9 ATS
All good things must come to an end.
Wait until public bets TB up to six and take niners.
Garcia will manage to put points on board against good tb defense and TB offense will stumble. Niners to cover this number.
They got the call as did the titans when they made it the Bowl as did the Pats againt oakland. Niners to possibly win SU.

I think the game stays close and very low scoring. Gruden will have tampa ready to play. I see something like

Tampa 20
San Fran 14

Not ready to jump on Tampa +4 yet though!!!

:03 seconds left in the game

SF 21
TB 20

"Well, it looks like the little guy with the funny helmet is going to come on the field and try to win it for the Bucs."

"Yep, here he comes, he is already jumping around, I can see Gruden on the sidelines getting upset, because he may break a bone"

"Here is the snap, its a good one...take that Mr Junkin, who should have stayed in retirement...! "

"The 48 yard attempt is up, and it hit the goal post"

The 49ers do it again, What the hell are they doing this far in the playoffs???

Could happen????

How will Tampa Bay score????? Well, just ask the QB, any QB, to find Mike Rumph in man to man coverage and throw there. This guy couldn't cover Oprah.
