The Accident (Things Could Be Worse)
? John Prine

Last night I saw an accident
on the corner of Third and Green
two cars collided and I got excited
just being part of that scene

It was Mrs. Tom Walker and her beautiful daughter
Pamela, was driving the car
they got hit by a man in a light blue sedan
who had obviously been to a bar.

Chorus:
They don't know how lucky they are
they could have run into that tree
got struck by a bolt of lightning
and raped by a minority.

It was a four way dilemma
we all arrived the same time
I yielded to the man to the right of me
and he yielded it right back to mine
well, the yield went around and around and around
till Pamela finally tried
just then the man in the light blue sedan
hit Pamela's passenger side.

Chorus:

Pamela hit her head on the mirror
Mrs. Walker got a bump on the knee
the man hit himself in the face and said
"Why does this happen to me?"

the neighbors came out
and they gathered about
saying "Hey! who hit who anyway?"
and the police arrived at a quarter to five
and pronounced all the victims "Okay".

Chorus:

hey old school

cheers

I've got the Traffic piece on my HD...think I'll play it now and try get some luck going for the football game. Killer track.

I'll have to check out the others you mention. Never heard John Prine.

Major haul yesterday morning, though, scoring some Hawkwind, a bunch of Bonamassa, Rick Wakeman and probably others I'm forgetting due to the football distraction. Gonna go back to it.

*Kansas - Carry on Wayward Son (5:23)...good rocker with intriguing lyrics complimenting it; Dust in the Wind is another track by these guys that I dig

*Kyuss - Whitewater (7:53-8:58 depending on whether or not you get the bonus Lick-Do on it...stupid silly ending to a solid disc, Welcome to Sky Valley)...deadly track; contains some dynamic interplay between the two guitarists

I highly recommend this band. Some more great tracks include Size Queen, Spaceship Landing and Space Cadet. Not really any bad tracks by them. A couple went on to form Queens of the Stone Age, who I'm not crazy about.

Special mention for King Crimson. I particularly like their more recent stuff, especially anything by Projeckt X where Robert Fripp collaborated with Adrian Belew and Trey Gunn, a couple of solid guitarists in their own right...or strum, maybe. Pick?...hope it's a winner.

instrumental(s):
*Karma to Burn - One (4:05)...good track by this predominantly instrumental rock outift
*Katatonia - Inside the City of Glass (4:07)...good track by this metal outfit
*King Crimson - Escape from Sagitarius A (10:50)
*King Crimson - Level Five (7:17)...a couple of good pieces from their later work; if you dig Tool then check out Level Five--sounds a lot like them; the 2 acts have actually done some work together
*Kyuss - Apothecaries' Weight (5:21)
*Kyuss - Thee Ol Boozerooney (2:47)
*Kyuss - Asteroid (4:48)
--these guys have a number of instumentals available; their whole catalog is worth persuing

*Buckethead - The Treeman (3:39)...first Bucketrack I've mentioned off of his raunchiest work, Cuckoo Clocks of Hell; some good work on this disc but some VERY heavy material

Enjoy.

Gonna bust some more moves on Limewire. Might be able to complete my Bonamassa haul tonight. Not much space to do much else. Guess something's gotta go...just zapped Neil Young & Pearl Jam's Mirror Ball, save a few tracks...not really the best work by either act on that disc.

Is there anybody out there?

.......is there anybody out there?...

Hello....is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone home?
Come on now, I hear your feeling down
Well I can ease your pain
Get you on your feet again.
Relax...I'll need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?

...

There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child has grown
The dream is gone.
IIIIiiiIIiIIiIiiiIIiIaaayyiiiiIII have become comfortably numb.

Hey Extrap............

Sounds like it's time to do what I did and buy a dedicated external hard drive for the MP3's.

Hard drives are cheap, cheap , cheap now. Certainly worth the trade off of all of the music you get at greatly reduced rates on Limewire:142smilie

Extrap:

Just came upon this thread. Certainly, music is my life blood.

A few comments:

Hendrix: There is no finer example of what a guitar can do. It seems each and every new discovery of material brings some great hidden gem. My personal faves are Machine Gun, Here My Train, If 6 Was 9 and Little Wing. Incidently, there are 3 (probably more) great cover versions of this song. One by Sting(on Nothing But The Sun) is intersting in its use of a Branford Marsalis sax solo inplace of the guitars. Second is the instumental version by Stevie Ray Vaughn (on the excellent The Sky Is Crying). Finally there is the gut wrenching version by Derek & The Dominoes on the Layla Disc. The vocal offsets on this version are incredible and the guitar work by Eric CLapton and Duane Allman is incendary. I have requested this version of this song be played at my funeral (unfortunately I won't be able to hear it that one last time, HA!).

Your listings have given me pause to revisit some gems in my collection. Allman Brothers, Hendrix, The Doors, etc. all great. I am also a big Joe Walsh Fan (Turn To Stone and Welsome To The Club and anything in the James Gang catalog). Still, I need to rake exception about Hotel California. The best guitar part on this record was played by Don Felder while Walsh's slide work was only complimentary.

Download or purchase Ziggy Stardust by Bowie.

Anyway, will be enjoying this list from now on< Looking forward to the Zepplin (all great, but, Physical Graffiti is the Bomb), Pink Floyd and others. I will try to add when I can.

THANKS!:weed: :weed:
