If you are thinking about purchasing one, don't.

Mine quit working at the 12 month 1 week mark  I did have an extended warranty, so I won't be out anything but time and tv watching.

The sharp support people said' "I'm sorry" at least 2 dozen times in my 4 phone calls yesterday, but they were not too bright. After running me through a mini-diagnostic, the error blinking code said I needed service. The lady tells me it's covered under warranty (1 year mfg) and to call Norman Norman's electronics in Atlanta. I tell her I live nowhere close to Atlanta, but she insists this is the only place that services Sharp and honors the warranty.

I called Norman's, and the guy says he is in Atlanta, and they don't service BG, Ky :sadwave:

I called Sharp back, and again, they tell me to call Atlanta bc Norman's has affilliates all over the country. i call them again and trll them what Sharp said, and Norman's confirms again that they are in Atlanta and don't service BG.

I called Sharp again and am told I will need to call where I purchased the tv bc it is past the 12 month mark. I asked why I wasn't told this initially, and the guy said he doesn't know. I thanked him for the fruitless 2 hours of wasted time.

I then called HH Gregg's local number. I was directed to a national call center where the phones were manned by Habib the poor English speaking crank-head. I called back the local number and hit 0 a few times and got a local employee. He confirmed I did have the extended warranty and gave me a phone number to call.

I called the number, and after Another 15 minutes, I'm informed it is indeed the wrong number bc they only take care of models purchased before 2008

I am given another number, but guess what? It's wrong as well. I'm given another number, and it's somebody who can help me. :00hour

I was called by the local repairman today. Instead of him saying he can come out and fix it, he says he called Sharp, and the error blinking code indicates a power supply that he has to order. It might be here by Monday  he also confirmed he fixes a lot of Sharp tvs and they suck.

So anyway, I guess I'll be doing a lot of hunting and reading this weekend. Sharp sucks, and my Internet search revealed this. Too bad I didn't know before I bought it.

On the course!
Somewhere, a guy is having a drink right now:

"No, wait! That's not the best part!!.......This dumb fucker calls back A THIRD TIME!!! No shit, I'm serious!

You would think after we put him on hold, and gave him the run around two times, he would have learned!

I'll bet he's on hold right now with someone else who is laughing at him!!!!"

:mj07:

Good luck, Clint.

My Aquos went down two weeks ago. Before that I had Samsung, great picture, but one year and 2 weeks old it died. All of these new TV's are disposable these days........My big DLP is Mitsubishi and it has been great. I had an old rear projection Mitsubishi and had it 14 years and moved it 6 times and it was like the day I purchased it. At least they don't cost an arm and a leg anymore.
