i got this from another forum & thought that some might find it interesting....does anybody have an different opinions ?
On Wednesday, SI.com's Stewart Mandel unveiled his third annual list of the nation's 10 best and five worst college football coaches. We can't stress enough that this list is not a lifetime achievement award, but rather a look at which coaches are hot (and not) right now. In other words, Joe Paterno and Bobby Bowden may be legends, but they haven't done much for us lately and as a result, aren't on the list. Without further ado, here's the list:
Ten Best
1. Pete Carroll, USC
2. Urban Meyer, Florida
3. Jim Tressel, Ohio State
4. Mack Brown, Texas
5. Bob Stoops, Oklahoma
6. Frank Beamer, Virginia Tech
7. Jim Grobe, Wake Forest
8. Rich Rodriguez, West Virginia
9. Mark Richt, Georgia
10. Gary Peterson, TCU
Five Worst
1. Al Groh, Virgina
2. Dennis Franchione, Texas A&M
3. Tommy Bowden, Clemson
4. Bill Doba, Washington State
5. Karl Dorrell, UCLA
