Skerritt sues over image used in impotence drug ad

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actor Tom Skerritt Wednesday sued a company for allegedly using his head on the body of a shirtless male model advertising a male impotence product.

Skerritt, 69, who won an Emmy award in 1994 for his role in the TV series ''Picket Fences'', filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court asking for an injunction against Body Basics Inc. and claiming unspecified damages.

Skerritt's lawsuit said the advertisement created the false impression that he sponsors or endorses the supplement sold by Body Basics Inc for erectile dysfunction. The company could not be reached for comment.

Skerritt has appeared in movies including ''Top Gun'', ''Steel Magnolias'' and ''A River Runs Through It''.
