This program snowballed well beyond its intended purpose and has tripled in 5 years. It should be gutted immediately imo.

This cant be true.. I thought Republicans were evil greedy monsters who only catered to the rich and whos ultimate goal was to make the rich white man even richer an leave the poor twisting in the wind.???? No republican would ever start such a program?? OOOOPS...

Joking aside it was a fantastic program and I?m all for it.. I think everyone should be able to dial 911.. But this shit has gotten out of control. I don?t have the numbers in front of me but from what I had read the program was costing tax payers only a few million when the program was limited to lan lines but after the Pres Obama administration extended the program to include cell phones with unlimited minutes the tax payer tab ballooned to well over 2.2 billion... Again don?t have exact numbers in front of me but whatever they are its totally ridiculous.. Cell phones are a privilege not a right IMO
