Yeah Sharky --- seems like the board is on a little run here --- hopefully we can all keep it up.

As for a play --- Royals +110...O's are limping into this series, and are 5-14 vs lefties this year. May has won his last three starts and seems to have fixed the problems that had plagued him early this season. Royal's offense misses Beltran, but they did score a few runs against the Cards and got a ton of hits over the weekend, but weren't able to get a win against that buzzsaw. As bad as they have been, the Royals are 18-21 this season at home, and were a .500 team in KC before the Cards swept them. Bedard has yet to go past the sixth this year so you know that O's bullpen will have to get involved tonight. Two more trends I like: Orioles lost eight of last nine road games and seven of last eight series openers. Royals won first game in five of their last six home series. When it comes down to it for me I just don't see how the O's can be a road favorite against anyone.

Florida -116.....not a lot of complex capping here, but I like to fade teams who have a miracle win the night before. Thompson'slast 3 starts have been clunkers, with an era over 9, and even though Penny's last few outings haven't been all that great either (1-3, 5.10 in his last five starts) he's been good against the Braves beating them twice. I'll take a shot betting on the better pitcher and the Braves' emotional letdown.

Padres -150...Wells is probably the best pitcher in the league with a bad record -- him and Livan Hernandez. DBacks traveling home from being swept, to face a lefty with a 3.01 era. Dbacks are 6-19 this year vs lefties, and Wells is one of the better ones they have to face. I'm not thrilled that he faced them last week, so he is fresh in their heads, but honestly I don't know how much the Dback lineup can do about it. Lotta chalk but I love the Padres' chances.

:topic: I just played the Dutch for a unit to win Euro 2004. If they can get by the home squad (who has been pushed to the limit too much), they should handle the Czechs. Whadda ya think? :shrug:

Sharky I hate to say it but I think I'm on the Czech bandwagon, going into the tourny I thought they could be a darkhorse but honestly felt France was going to take it all.

I like the Dutch team but from the little I know their coach seems like he's a problem :shrug: To be honest with you soccer is something that I know very little about but love to play --- man goals are exciting (this is the action junky in my talking )

What price did you get the Dutch at? Pending the lines it might be better to put that unit on them in next game then if they win try to double up in the final :shrug:


Hope I don't jinx the Padres but as I type this has become a double fest for San Diego. Reynolds is serving meat.

Blackman......I think I am in the same boat as you.....I don't know a whole lot about soccer, but I've got a buddy who is hard core into it, so I've been watching a bit. He's talked a few of us into going to the Skydome with him at the end of July to watch Liverpool and Porto play in an exhibition match, er, a "friendly". :shrug: They're supposed to be bringing in real grass for the occassion, too, so that should be cool.
I got Holland at +281.....I honestly felt that if they did beat Portugal, their value would drop a bit, and what would happen if they won and Greece somehow managed to beat the Czechs?
I thought it would be worth a shot......

+281 would probably be a great line if you match up Greece, but if its a Netherlands vs Czech final I'm not so sure. Just based on how heavy a favorite Czech is this round I'd think you could get the Dutch at a pretty nice price for the championship alone. I do know that the Netherlands vs Portugal game should be a fun one, especially if the Dutch can knock out the home team.

Annoyed that the Marlins game was played after a three hour delay, changed the game greatly in my opinion, but what can you do. Also apologize for that Royals call the O's bats came to play last night.

I knew a losing day had to come eventually after this little run and at least this was manageable. Time to refocus and find a gem or two for tonight.
