small mac play .....

ohio moneyline (+350)

small play, but think its worth a shot. miami is the better team, but their tank job against bowling green cost them a shot at a mac title. now theyre laying double digits on the road against their rival. just dont see this as a good fundamental spot for them. last week, betts was, well....betts. truly one of those kids that "does the least with the most". all kinds of talent yet he is not a good quarterback. dont rule out the possibility of wright or byrum taking one to the house on an interception. those two have are terrific at breaking on the ball (especially byrum) and making plays for ohio, and nobody throws off his back foot or offbalanced more than josh betts. also have to think that solich will not hesitate to go to brandon jones at quarterback if everson struggles early. he stuck with everson waayyyy too long last week at akron. but think jones will get the call at some point if ohio's offense needs a jumpstart. all in all, a small play. not taking the points because miami could very well blow this team out. but theres just as good a chance that ohio wins outright. solich wont let the bobcats lay down here

wow gman, that play surprises me. I know for a absolute fact you forgot more about Mac Football than I will ever know, there is without doubt no conference I know less about. I did catch last weeks game against Akron and dam Ohio looked absolutely terrible, I know full well the weather was horrendous and 1 game a season doesn't make, but Ohio really was horrible. Because the Miami O/BOWLING GREEN got started so late I didn't catch much of that either, although obviously Miami was horrendous as well.

didnt want to get too involved with this game with so many good ones on tap this week. obviously ohio aint winning this one. but im content to try and cancel out the 1/2 unit moneyline bet with a 1/2 unit bet on the 2h. ohio giving up a punt return as well as getting a punt blocked on their own 5 is a microcosm of their season. but i dont think miami completely blows them out. if they do, it'll be a 1 unit loss for the day.

as for taking my advice - thats your decision. definitely an ugly effort by ohio. theyre a bad football team. but i guess now im only hitting mid-60% in the mac this season. im ashamed. especially that a small +350 shot didnt come in. :cursin:

im only right about 65% of the time in this conference. id love it if i were to be able to hit 100%, but thats not going to happen any time soon. but i do know one thing -- you're not going to be breaking the books any time soon if you're kicking yourself for not laying -500 moneyline on a meaningless college football game.
