Day 3. Wow! It seems like it was just yesterday!

Congrats for lasting this long, everyone.

For anyone who has fallen. Just remember how committed you are to quitting. Today is just as great of a day to quit as Monday was. Tomorrow NEVER comes.

Keep it up.

Went to bed really early around 8:30 and had a really weird night of sleep.... Feverish sweats followed by cold chills.... I tossed and turned (and twitched according to the little woman) most of the night.... Got up this morning with no hard cravings, but will probably take a piece of gum before work. Cough not too bad this morning.... Since I didn't make it to my accountant's office yesterday, I guess that's first on the list this morning.... Where's that gum? :142smilie

Glad that there are so many determined to beat this thing.... You are all an inspiration and provide the encouragement that I need.... Thanks. ;)

Remember, :nono: SMOKING!!!

I also had difficulty sleeping last night and I have been very irritable at work and at home. I really need to get over the hump soon.

My sincerest best wishes & luck to everyone. I am sure the success rate will be high. Geez, and just remember, if anyone does regress a touch and has a smoke, don't get depressed about it and think that you lost. One ain't that bad !! Just revert back with the abstinence and start the program again & be proud. just like pickin winners................start all over again with optimism after having a loser yesterday. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
I know it is tough, but hang in there, everyone.

I forgot to mention that I broke my own rule last night and had a couple of beers, but it wasn't as bad as I thought.... Plus I was with the gf and no ciggs anywhere in her house, I knew I was safe and there was no way she would have let me smoke no matter how bad I begged.... It wasn't nearly as bad as I had thought it would be.... I did crave one, but just kind of put it out of my mind and watched the ODU/Hofstra game.... Didn't even chew any gum last night, but I did go to bed early and as I said before had a horrible night sleeping.... Feeling pretty good right now.... I'll check back in a couple of hours and probably bitch about how hard lunch is again today.... LOL :mj07:

edit: I forgot.... Went to the accountant's office this morning and almost fell over from sticker shock!!! I actually patted my chest pocket out of old habits.... LOL I proceeded to reach into my pocket and open another piece of gum.... Doesn't uncle Sam know this is a tough week for me!?!?!? I guess I should have enough funds to pay my taxes with all that I'm saving from not smoking.... :142smilie

Hope everyone stays on the path again today.... Great job to those that have remained smoke free and to those that haven't, it's time to get back on the MJ's Non-smoking train.... :SIB

Stay strong team!!! :)

I AM NOT A SMOKER!!! :nono:

I'm in the middle of day 3 now... still nicotine free, but it's not getting much easier.... only time i don't think about having a smoke is when first waking up in the morning.... after i've been up for a bit, it's a viscious circle the rest of the day, eat so i don't smoke, and then crave the *after eating* smoke, then eat so i don't smoke again....and AROUND, and AROUND, and AROUND.

that crap has GOT to stop soon, one way or another.... still working on a plan.

Good job everyone....
Allen Carr wrote a good book on quitting smoking "the only way to stop smoking permanently" He also has a book written just for female smokers....If you are struggling I would suggest picking up a copy...it is good motivation

I quit smoking pot this Jan 17 and have been smoke free since then.I never got into smoking cigs but am always glad to hear that somebody wants to make an effort to quit. I know it is much harder to stop smoking cigs but keep up the great work.

There seems to be fewer and fewer smokeout participants chiming in by the day. Hopefully most are still on board! hang in there guys and Annie!
