Sneak Sheet: College Bowl Picks

I was never a big fan of putting all of my picks in one thread, but for record keeping I know it will be a lot easier.

My picks will be rated 1- 4 units with 4 being the best.

This is my first bowl pick of the year so let's get started with a big-un :SIB

Louisville, Strong has turned this program around in a major way and he has done it with defense.

The most impressive win for the birds was a shutout of Uconn. Louisville has limited opponents to just 224 points this year and ranked 12th in the FBS with 304.7 per contest, and this is because they have a defensive mindset.

Bilal Powell is a stud on offense for the birds.
He amassed 1,330 yards this year on the ground which is good for second in the Big East this year. This senior has experience against the Golden Eagles running for 58 yards on ten carries in the last meeting. Powell earned all-conference honors and is the nation's 10th leading rusher.

The Golden Eagles defense has some impressive numbers, but they are padded against cupcakes and when they face tough teams they get exploited.

The Cardinal's have a very good recruiting class and it will only get better with a bowl win here. Strong has turned this program around.

Louisville had a great comeback but So. Miss has gained some yardage in this game and the Cards seem vulnerable to the quick strike.

They are having trouble with 3rd downs and picking up the blitz so that is the only reason I have yet to hedge...


2nd half OVER 30.5 -120 One unit

Quick strike offense and fast paced offense, both offenses are getting pick chunks per play and there is nor reason to believe that special teams will have a say in this.

The possibility of OT is there and the snaps have been lousy. I am going with PO--but I will tak the over in the second half.

Not a bad start so I will take it..

Two Units: UTAH +17
This is a good Utah team and they can put up some points (35 ppg)

Cain starts at QB so I look for a more run oriented scheme, but he adds mobility which is what Utah will need to avoid the pass rush of Boise.

I don't have the nuts to call for an outright upset but I think it will be very close....

Raining for days here in Vegas Good luck on that running game !!

Utah players were taunting Boise St players at the Hard Rock last night. Fights about broke out. They got the Broncos fired up!!

Laid an egg in the game last night--Utah kept it close (somehow) in the first but not close enough--anway on to the rain soaked game for tonight...

how will they play on or around that field...amazing what happens during this time of year with bowl games....

Yeh I dont blame you there.

But I think I was involved somehow. And that kinda bothers me.

Negative or at least not that I can remember--the majority of my problems stemmed from sports service stuff.
