With all of the full slates (afternoon and night games) I have been working very hard to cap games. However since the upcoming week will be very slow, I have decided to take a break and enjoy some family time, so I will not post after sunday until the following thursday or friday. It is a great time for all to give back to your families after taking so much time working on your sports investments, and it's a nice break to avoid burnout too. Just a suggestion.

Yesterday's Recap:

KC +110 L -1.00
Ugly game detroit should have blown KC away, but KC gave up a two run lead late to make sure the tigers got the win.

METS +110W +1.00
Great game pitched by Rusch, more importantly I was very impressed with the mets catcher as he called a great game.

Mets/Cubs UNDER 9-115 W +1.00
Turned two in this one as I nailed the total as well. Great pitching and the mets pathetic bats helped keep this one way under the total.

Yankees -170 W +1.00
The O's made it closer than I wanted, but the yanks and the rocket just keep on rolling.

Braves -170 L -1.70
Couldn't have been more wrong in this one as coggin pitched a gem, and the phils proved they could play with the big boys.

Double Unit Selection
Montreal -125 W +2.00
The expos lit up clement to pull in a double unit selection play. Double unit plays are now 3-0 L3.

Montreal -1.5 +160 W +1.60
Thanks to the florida bullpen for falling apart late.

Col +110 L -1.00
The rocks blow a 3 run lead, and the grand salami does this selection in.

Tex +155 W+1.55
The rangers actually get a good performance from the bull pen to maintain the early lead.
Texas +1.5 -105 W +1.00
See Above
LA-105 W +1.00
Teams on a hot streak just find ways to win.
OVER LA/SF 9 -110 L -1.10
Gagne pitched a gem? Enuff said.

Yesterday:8-4, +5.35
Overall: 34-18, +24.73

After looking over the dalla factor, I think it will be perfect for football, however in bases, I am not so sure as it does not represent the money line. I am working on a different angle.

Back with afternoon around the horn.

Thanks TT.....

Pitt @ Cincy
I can't figure it out, the pirates have been abusing the reds for three straight and yet the pirates are still dogs? Both team through up some rookies in this spot, and both have pitched rather well, however I don't see a play on the side. Pitt has the value, but with some other respectable cappers on the reds I'll pass. 10 Over 15 is also a lot in this situation, I know you have two rookies, and the pirates have been hitting the ball like gang busters, but again nothing.

PASS

I liked PIT. Got them at +115 at Pinnacle which scares me . . . because Pinnacle with their eight cent line gets a lot of wise guy action and something drove that up pretty good. Every time Pinnacle has the best numbers I get nervous, but I think jmizeus has it pegged. Lot's of money going against the sweep.

Ditto on the nice night JT.

Would have been a double play if not for the good record by vasquez, also liked the under but a beat up expo bullpen had me pass.

Also passing on the rocks/pads with a serious lean to the pads, but I'll let you guys handle that one!

On to the night games...

Chicago-108 @ NY mets 8.5-
Possible chance at turning two in this one, but I'll start with the side as I like the cubbies.
PLAY Cubs -108
Whenever I look at a cubs game, or any baseball game for that matter I like to see how the leadoff hitter does. If the leadoff hitter does well it allows a team to come out and get some runs early and often. EY hits .344 against Trachsel and that is with 32 ab's. The mets did not win last night's game because of hitting they won it because of pitching, and I don't look for that same result tonight. Trachsel is only 3-10 on the season, and just 2-10 in the month of July since '99. He is also a pathetic 1-5 at shea with an era over 6. He has pitched much better since his stint at the farm, but it should not be enough to get the job done tonight.
Bere goes for the cubbies tonight, and trust me this guy is not so impressive as he has lost four out of his last five, and0-2 lifetime against the mets. However after scanning the ba's vs. bere only mcewing is impressive at 3 for 4. If Piazza gets a chance to pinch it he hits less than .150 against bere. The cubs get the edge at the plate and in the pen in this one.

PASS on the total
These two teams have under trends written all over them, however tonight is not the night to test the under. The two pitchers although throwing better of late, have a history of getting shelled, early weather reports say the wind will be whipping, and behind the plate is Fichter and he is a serious over ump. O/U 8/3 and he averages over 12 runs a game. I'll pass.

Back with more.....

Boston @ Cleveland -143

I'm going to break this one down a little more in depth...

Pitching
Cone has been the better of the two pitchers of late, in his last three he is 2-0, with an era of 4.40, but more importantly the red sox have won his last six starts. They are doing it with run support. In his last three starts the sox have given cone nine runs of support per game. Cone's teams have won two out of three of his last starts at the jake, and he has kept the cleveland hitters baffled.
Alomar .203
Burks .125
Thome .219
Vizquel .214....the only batter with a decent ba vs. cone is lofton at .273

colon goes for the indians and he has been plain dreadful in his last three starts as he has an era over nine and opponents are batting .375 against him. The tribe has only won three out of his last eight starts and against the bo sox, the tribe is only 3-7 in his last ten. The sox colon well with several players hitting him well.
Hatteberg .533
Offerman .364
O'leary .364
Lewis .308
and that is without Ramieriez who has never faced colon.

Hitting
The sox have the edge again here batting .324 against righties in the last ten while the tribe is batting a mere .267.

Overall:
The sox are also the hotter of the two teams as they have won seven out of the last ten, while the tribe has only won four out of the last ten. Boston is also 18-12 against the tribe since '86, and is 10-7 at Cleveland in the past three seasons.

Behind the plate
McClelland gets the call behind the plate and he has the home team at an even 9-9 on the year. In the last ten games he has done involving boston the sox are 7-3, and in the last three games he has done with cone on the hill, he is 3-0. In the last ten he has done with the tribe they are 3-7, however when colon is on the hill the tribe are 5-2.

Too much value to pass up here,

PLAY Boston +136
