we definitely disagree on some things ideologically..you can`t be regulars on a forum with so many other opinionated guys for14 years without a little friction seeping through on occasion...... ...there are any number of posters in here who I`m sure have profound ideological disagreements....but in the large majority of cases, they`re all decent, smart guys(that`s you, cie) and the forum would be greatly diminished without them..their "every other post" isn`t intended to be a sharp stick in the eye of those with opposing viewpoints...they`re reasonable people and get that there are actually other people with differing opinions in the forum who would rather not be slapped each time they check in for a laugh or some casual b.s.`ing with friends... case in point pocket aces` fairly benign ted cruz post(and believe me,i`m no big fan of cruz).....
hammer obviously doesn`t get this...I`m pretty sure his most recent report card read"doesn`t play well with the other children"....
I certainly didn't intend for this thread to turn into a political debate but I'm not surprised. I don't really support Cruz. That wasn't my intention either.
I guess my point was that you never know what the day is going to bring. And not to get too sappy, each day really is a gift. When I got up yesterday morning I knew I had to go to work and then I was going to take a late lunch and join my family for Good Friday. I never would have guessed I'd chat with a guy like Ted Cruz.
After mass there, were only about 10 people standing around him chatting. Maybe a few more. And what do you say to a guy like that? He's met a million people and shaken every hand he's come across. I thanked him for joining us and he thanked me for having them. At the end, I looked him square in the eye and I said "God bless you". He said, "God bless you too."
Today I'm reading about how many affairs he's had and how bad of a guy he is. Who knows, but at that moment he was just a normal guy standing in the back of my Church with his wife and kids.
