So LSU is supposed to have the best run defense in the country, right? God I'd love USC to play them.

Is Arkansas trying to hand LSU the game?

Uhhhhh, 34-17 agasint an Arkansas that would give USC a run for their money. Not too shabby. Lot of game left, though.;)

Sorry I am not impressed with Arkansas despite LSU destroying them at home. Arkansas is an average SEC team who turned the ball over way too many times. LSU is very fast team, but USC would beat them. No question about that.

Typical response from you. LSU could be beating the #4 team in the country by this score & it wouldn't impress you as it would mess with your USC obsession. Why don't you just admit you don't look at these things fairly?

I have watched most of this game, and LSU has dominated the last 3 quarters. LSU the #3 team in the nation, struggled against OLE MISS, and needed Miss. to miss 2 field goals to beat them. USC would have blown out Ole Miss. Today against Arkansas, LSU looked great for 3 quarters, but Arkansas looks horrible and I am not sold its LSU forcing Arkansas to make all those silly mistakes that LSU happily taking advantage of. The first q Arkansas looked like they could hang with LSU, until they starting making mistakes. It was not LSU dominating. LSU is a very good team, maybe great team, but USC is a class above.

I have watched LSU vs UGA, FL, AU, Ole Miss, and Arkansas. Today and against AU they looked really good, but the other 3 games they did not even look like a top 5 team. Against Georgia LSU was beat up and down and UGA made ton of mistakes. If LSU played USC, LSU would not benefit from mistakes and the LSU defense would have a lot of trouble stopping the USC offense.

USC would have blown out Cal, wait they didn't they lost to them. Good teams take advantage of other people's mistakes. Every team does it so bringing that point up makes you look foolish imo.

Doesn't Oklahoma take advantage of team's mistakes?

Doesn't USC do the same thing?

Seriously

My argument is why can't LSU dominate their opponents? What Arkansas did today was hand the game to LSU. That was pathetic play by Arkansas. How many TD's did ARky spot LSU? Yes LSU defense if good/great, but at least 2-3 turnovers from ARKY had nothing to do with the LSU defense and resulted in LSU TD's. Arky hung with LSU until they imploded. Congrats to LSU for impressive win. Last week they needed OLE MISS to to miss 2 field goals to beat them. In addition, LSU could not score on MISS. defense. What would LSU offense do against OU or USC defense? Remember, OU and USC do not make silly mistakes and give gifts!

Lastly, LSU got dominated by UGA (but won), and lost to a rookie QB against FL when FL was not playing well and played @ LSU. Factor in the pansy OOC schedule, and I do not think LSU is the 2nd best team. I am just not sold on them, but they are very impressive, just not better than OU or USC. Too bad there is not a playoff system.

Florida vs. CAL: FLA: 70 - CAL: 3

S. Carolina vs. Cal: 23 - CAL: 10
Ole Miss vs. Cal: Ole Miss: 49 - Cal: 13

Why didn't USC dominate Cal? I mean atleast LSU lost to a good team. Look at where Florida is ranked in the BCS. They are playing good football the last half of the season & have a shot to win their conference. There is no shame in saying you lost to the Gators this year.

USC lost to a Cal team that only has 2 quality victories which were USC & Conference USA champ Southern Mississippi. The other 5 victories came against such powerhouses like Illinois, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, & Stanford  Oh & the combined record of those 5 teams going into today is a powerful 17-39!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! & surprise surprise 4 of those teams are in the powerful Pac 10. The second best team in the country should not have a loss against a creampuff like Cal period!

LSU was flat as a pancake vs Fla.. They could do no right. It was obvious from the get go how flat and unfocused they were. How could a good team be so unfocused, beats the hell out of me, but they were. Remember the game well, only bet I made on them all year, loser. These college kids are just that, "kids". Me , I don't know how good USC, LSU, Ok really are. That's why they got to play the games. I can tell you who I think is the best prepared, and focused, and that is Oklahoma. Wait a minute, Ohio State beat them last year. That proves I don't know chit, and either do you. It just gets a little old reading these USC post all the time. By the way, do you still think O.J. is innocent, just curious. Good luck in all your wagers, just don't get blindsided.

I don't think, I know O.J. is guilty. I respect O.J. as a football player and his past achievements but have lost respect for him as a person.

USC lost to CAL, @ CAL, and on that day if you watched the game, CAL played really well, and USC played good football only in the 2h. USC lost in triple OT, and at the time USC was not realistically contending for a NC because it is such a young young team. But since the CAL game, USC has blown every opponent away, and been very very consistent. Playing excellent football. NO INT's for Lienart in his last 6-7 games, and just playing good football on both sides of the ball. You give CAL no respect but they have an excellent coach and playing @ CAL that day was a very tough game because USC is such a young team. Go check the USC roster and see how young they are and they lost in triple OT in a game that was claimed as an ESPN INSTANT CLASSIC. FLORIDA is a good team now, i agree, but when LSU lost to FL they were not a good team and they were being lead by a rookie QB. No way LSU should have lost that game @HOME. Also LSU was dominated by GEORGIA @HOME.

SO LSU played like crap and got dominated 2 times this year @ HOME. UGA clearly is the best team LSU faced this year, and maybe FL was too (even though FL was not a good team when they played LSU). Please do not argue that they were. LSU 2nd toughest opponent was #21 AU @home and won impressively 31-7.

So LSU has not so so against the 2 toughest opponents they played this year, and both were @HOME, and LSU played a real real cupcake OOC schedule.

Lets see, USC lost to CAL @CAL in triple OT early in year, but lets see what USC has done against their 2 toughest opponents. USC beat #6 WSU 43-16, and then beat #6 AU @ AU 23-0. USC clearly has been more impressive against their 2 toughest competition. How lucky was LSU to have WSU lose against UW @UW with WSU playing a FRESHMAN QB because the senior got injured. PRETTY DAMN LUCKY because WSU would have finished top 10 BCS!

Now USC has dominated their opponents all year since CAL, and LSU has not. USC has scored over 43 pts in 6 straight games, despite Carroll playing reserves in every 2h. USC clearly has been more impressive in my opinion, and that is why the human polls have USC ranked ahead of LSU.

Lastly, at this point in the season, a #2 team in the country does not beat OLE MISS by 3 pts, with OLE MISS missing 2 field goals, and only scoring 17pts against the OLE MISS defense. LSU needed big plays and big mistakes by OLE MISS to win that game.

Today they benefited from BIG MISTAKES from Arkansas but LSU clearly dominated 3 quarters. USC would have beat OLE MISS by at least 20pts including playing reserves in 4th quarter, and Arkansas would never have been tied with USC 17-17. Arkansas is 1 dimensional team and LSU defense could not shut them down until Arkansas started imploding.

Just my opinion.

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok now all of a sudden USC wasn't realistically aiming for a national title when they lost to Cal? Well correct me if I'm wrong but when you are undefeated, playing in a down conference this season, & were #3 at the time, I would think a national title would be a realistic goal considering the cupcake schedule you had.

I've seen you make some ridiculous statements but that one about the loss & the national title takes the cake.

In fairness to USC they dont control who their conference foes are. But the schools do control their non-conference schedules and I dont think anyone can dispute that a schedule of @Auburn, BYU, Hawaii, @Notre Dame tops LaMonroe, Arizona, W Illinois and La Tech. The teams have 2 common opponents and each won by almost identical scores - of course USC played at Auburn while LSU was at home. Certainly a loss to Cal is worse than a loss to Florida, but LSU's loss was at home which to me is a deal breaker. And Florida was downright dreadful at the time. On a neutral field I think USC wins. I also think neither team gives OU a real game, but some homefield edge would be helpful to LSU. Whichever team doesnt get to New Orleans has only themselves to blame so to me the arguing is fairly silly. In fact, LSU's only real hope in keeping Saban is to not win it all this year so they should be very content with a trip to Pasadena.

Once again if you are going to bring in the scheduling, then the facts of why some teams were added must be brought up. They didn't purposely want to play W Ill or LaTech but when teams back out on you with one happening in Jan of this year, it is very hard to find an opponent with so many schedules locked in advance.

Florida was not dreadful at the time, they came off a loss at a very good Ole Miss team who was ranked 17th at the time. There is no shame in losing to a top 20 team by 3 in my opinion.

I disagree on LSU & USC not being able to give Oklahoma a game. They both would provide a good matchup & even with Oklahoma being undefeated, their schedule isn't that impressive to me either considering the Big 12 as a whole.

Yeah the name recoginition of some of USC's ooc opponents might be nice but realistically the only impressive one to me was playing at Auburn. It is no big deal to play Hawaii at home as they are a notoriously bad road team, BYU, & ND for that matter haven't been anything decent in a couple of seasons. As I said I will give USC props for playing their very first game @ Auburn.
