Alright, I just wanted to see different people's views on using the different tools in the betting world. More specifically, I am referring to Parlays, Teasers, and Reverses.

I know, I know, I have read it plenty of times before on here, as well as heard it from people I know, that parlays, and especially teasers are suckers bets, they should never be used, only do straight bets, etc.

I am just wondering how many people out there actually do use these tools on occassion, and what frequency they use them in. I am especially interested in hearing what people think about playing Monster Teasers.

FYI, a Monster Teaser on our site for BBall is that you pick 4 teams, and you get 10 points for each team. You have to obviously win all 4, and you pay regular juice (-110). Also, you lose ties (so you really only get 9 pts unless it is a line with a 1/2 pt, ie: 12.5)

I tend to like using this tool more than others for several reasons in College BBall (as well as in football where you get 13 pts).

1) I like them because I believe the line is set to even the teams out to make the regular line 50/50. So in my eyes, although there might be an edge for one team over another in any particular game, I think that this 10pts seems to give a bettor a legitimate chance of winning a side.

2) I like using Monsters for certain lines and situations more than others. For instance, I look to use Monsters in games where the line is in the low teens...anywhere fromo 9-11 is ideal. Even up through 15 depending on the matchup is good as well. That way, if you can get 4 teams that are favored by this amount, all they have to do is basically win the game. Also will like a game if I think the team is getting more points than they should, lile the Southern Miss/E. Carolina game as well.

For example tonight, I like Syracuse to win the game pretty good, but are am not sure if they will cover the 14 or so. Also like Miss. St. -7.5 >> +2.5. I will have to find other games to put with those two (maybe Umass and Ohio).

I have lost some tough breaks, especially in football this season, but have also done well the Monsters lately. It is probably the worst situation when you have won 3 of the 4 games, and the 4th ties, as is what happened when the Broncos lost to the happless Raiders by 1 (giving 12 at the time) in a blizzard at Mile High. Unbelievable....

I would like to hear both sides to this (if there are indeed people that use these tools), especially if you use Monster Teasers (or similar toold such as Sweetheart teasers where you pick 3 teams and get 8 pts.

Thanks for the read and comments to come...

Heaven, oh!!, this isn't it?!
I could see using this for "Tv" games where you want the action, but not sure of a side.........

Other than that, still think they are a bad bet. Think my one weakness is betting more on some games than others :cursin:, although I see this is common practice. Discipline in this endeavor is sometimes difficult :)

Funny you posted this because today I played a 4-team monster teaser. Something I don't do often.

Pittsburgh +1
Boston College +15?
Northwestern +30
Auburn +29?

As for me personally, in hoops I often do 2 and 3 team ML parlays. In footbball I do 2 and 3 team ML parlays and 2-team teasers. However, most of my plays are from straight wagers.

Usually I do these type of wagers when there is nothing I really like and I want some action. They are fun bets and give you a safety cushion.

I like doing ML Parlays as well...same concept as with the Monsters except you risk the less (or same) to win more. The problem for me is that my site doesn't always offer ML's on every game like most sites...terrible. I really wish they did as I would probably just take those for a decent amount every night.
