so when do the "institutions of higher learning" start sharing the billions with these "Semi-Pro Players" ..

"Moving for Dollars or why can't we have our own Network too."

From school Prez..to Coach to Player to Media..

One gigantic scam...

gotta have it though..never in the history of sports has such a league as the NFL had such a great minor league system...and the only thing they have to do is give them more money to play and turn a blind eye and deaf ear to the transgrsssions prior to arriving..

Gotta love America..and love American Pro Sports even more..even at the tote a book too level.

now about that cash for my son to play.....

Many of these kids are getting free educations at institutions for which they have not qualified academically. Call me old school, but I'd be thankful were my chiuld to receive the opportunity to attend stanford on schollie, and even moreso if my child did not meet the strict academic requirements which the rest of the student body is subject to.

Sorry but for the first time in my adulthood, I no longer believe in this. There are college graduates with Masters and MBAs that can no longer get into their respective job fields in this economy. Thankful my child? Thankful my child risked serious injury to line the pockets of the SEC (NCAA) big wigs?

I'm not seeing through those glasses anymore. The days of tradition and college education are done. Have been since the early 80s.

Pay me.

I disagree with your take. My college educated friends, not even taking into account graduate degrees, are FAR more successful than my noneducated friends. Actually, it is not even close. Sure, there are success stories for the undereducated, but the numbers clearly indicate that career earnings for college grads exceeds non college grads by a mile.

Either way, the child is not risking injury to line pockets. Rather, the child is risking injury because of his passion for football or for the opportunity to enter the NFL draft.

I agree. Great, my child will get a free education at a value of what, 80-120k tops? While my child works his ass off all year round, risks his body, and puts all his sweat, blood and tears to put MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars in this corrupt fucks pockets? Fans come to see these players play. They got names on the back of jerseys. They got affiliations with their #'s. I could buy a #5 USC jersey not too long ago. It didn't say BUSH on the back of it, but for fucks sake everyone knows what it's implying and who's jersey it is. Fans can buy "#5 jersey" come to USC games to watch Bush play, but the institution and NCAA are the ones pocketing the money. The NCAA and college presidents aren't anything but corrupt businessmen.

3 of my best friends have college degrees. Neither are working in the fields they got their degrees in and are in the process of paying back their loans. I don't have a college degree and make more then 2 of them. 1 works with me and we make the same annually. 1 is going back to college :mj07:

Fixing this is gonna be complicated, but the actual solution is quite simple.

And I love the fact we can disagree. You make excellent points.

Cam Newton was worth the 180k. His accomplishments were celebrated by A MILLION Alabama residents and 100k Auburn grads.

I dont have kids yet so I dont have to educate them on the value of hard work, moral stability, a defined life. I am sure my stance will change if God chooses to bless us in the coming month, but with that said, its time for the rich, to share their wealth.

If they choose not to, there will be more of the same.
