Does this mean that online poker is going in the
tank ?

And people will not play online like they did as they do not trust fair random play ?

If anyone continues to play after this.

your just stupid

I think you're wrong. Just like there are a ton of crooked sportsbooks out there. I mean thousands of people make a living playing online, myself included. Right now there are only two reputable sights for US players, stars and full tilt, albeit full tilt slow pays and has ridiculously terrible customer support. Their games are legit. At least as legit as can be. Any one with 200k hands in their poker tracker databases can see that their stats are where they should be as far as card distribution. You were an idiot if you played at absolute and ub even before the scandal. They were and are awful. Just like you would be an idiot if you deposited large sums of money and played at places like sportsbook.com or bodog or something. If you do your homework you are fine. Is online poker rigged? Maybe, maybe not...definitely in some places, and possibly in others. But it's still beatable.

And I'll say it again:

If one of your friends called you up and said "I'll deal some cards over the phone, but be completely honest with you about the results", you'd laugh your ass off. Yet, you'll trust a total stranger?

You might well be making a living, and plenty others, too. The thing is, if the owners have the availability to pluck even a few cents a hand dishonestly, they will make a ton more, and I don't like those odds.

also...

The owners could still make a killing if the rigged one out of every 500 or 1000 hands and it would be tough to read by looking at the overall numbers for thousands of hands.

I'm not going to argue with you. You can have your opinions. And I'm certainly not going to stick up for the online poker industry. It's pretty much in shambles outside of stars and full tilt. But again, buyer beware. If you do your research you will realize that Stars has the best bot detection program in the business. They took away $200 k from the winner of a tournament because they found out it was someone else playing and redistributed the prize money among the participants. Anytime something is in question they will lock accounts and thouroughly invesitgate and pay retribution to any wronged players.

Again, not sticking up for the industry, but will stick up for stars as there has never been anything proved wrong there. As for stealing a few cents a hand, how on earth would they do that. I can see always what is being raked and it would have to go to a bot, but I can see stats for every player I'm playing against so I would know if somethings fishy and report it.

Again, not going to stick up for the industry, but I will say if you do your resarch there are some legit places to play and I'm fine with that.

But where would the money go? Someone always wins a pot. Even if they rigged it against you they are rigging it for someone else. The online community is the best police force out there as far as bots. Again, the best estimates out there have stars raking more than $1 million a day. Why on earth would they risk their entire operation for a few thousand more.
