My wife had to update her card since we tied the knot, and I noticed something on MY card that is not on hers.
On the bottom of my card (circa 1961) it clearly states in bold letters: "For Social Security and Tax Purposes Only. Not For Identification"
When did we start allowing the entire world to have our SSNs for identification? I give it out as a matter of course when asked for it, and wonder what would happen if I tell someone "no"?
