40,000 must test for viruses in Las Vegas

This is what happens when you have a care for profit healthcare system. Some medical center in Las Vegas, to save a few bucks was reusing syringes and vials. Notices went out to 40,000 people to have themselves tested for hepatitis B & C and HIV. Workers at the center when asked what happened they said "This is what we were told to do."

So under this system how many will be infected? Do you think that their insurance companies will cover them? If they test neg. that does not mean that they don't have any thing, they will have to test every year for a while.

I wonder how many of these people will lose their homes because of this. If they come up with HIV that means hundreds of thousands of dollars of profit loss for insurance companies, will they be dropped, will the company find a reason to drop them?

I find that quite amazing --considering they are giving free needles to drug users in many places

on the universal healthcare--it's not going to happen regardless of who wins in Nov.

It is not remotely affordable with all the other social programs struggling--and you can take that to the bank.

Strictly more pandering to the free loader base.

I was thinking about this last night. How can we afford this? The only way to pay for it is to raise taxes correct?

I'm not trying to attack on this one. Really don't understand how we are supposed to pay for it.

My guess is that those of us in the workforce who currently have insurance would be paying more from our checks in the end. It may or may not be labeled as that, but socialized does not make it free. You just pay for it in a different way.

And to add. I don't care what political party you are with. If this would hurt the medical field's profits, you can guarantee a politician is not going to jeoprodize (sp?) those kickbacks! :scared

Most economist say not feasible if we raise taxes and war abates--our tax revenue is at all time highs--it's the spending that is the culprit.
