Obviously these things are pretty nasty when they are out at sea. What are the waters like out there around them? I assume boats are instructed to steer clear? How close can they get? What about flights? Also I have heard several people on the news saying they have dogs they cant take with them. WHY NOT? What the fukc excuse could you have to abandon a pet like that?

see the other thread on how stupid can people be to see about *lessons learned* they were able to evec. pets from houston.

also, hell no a plane won't go near one (passenger airliner anyway) but there are always the nuts (and think they are gov't nuts, but not sure of that) that fly into the eye to get readings ;)

pets at all times, but in a way could see the *restrictions* that the superdome put on.... hmmmmm...who would be responsible if a pit bull decided to have a few poodles for dinner if they weren't able to bring enough dog food along??

can you imaging cats and dobermans and birds all on the same bus for out of the city evacs??? the put cage restrictions on the pets allowed out of Houston. now, just like i asked of djv.....let's hear YOUR full plan for saving everyone from disaster (including their pets)

In the Dome I understand, but why cant you put your dog in your car? And your kids too?

What about the boats and these things? Is it like the Perfect Storm type stuff out there?

ummmm...who the hell EVER said you couldn't evacuate your own animal????? those that left on their own took their pets along, it was those that needed buses or had to go to the dome that couldn't take them along. all people had to worry about that took their own pet in their car was finding a place to stay that took pets.

No I saw SEVERAL interviews of people that were saying they had a dog they couldnt take in their car for whatever reason :cursin: I dont see why not?
