I haven't decided yet what plays I am making but here are some things to consider.
...Toronto has been super all year coming off games where they lost by 3 or more goals. They are 5-1 in those situations with some wins over some pretty good teams. I am passing because I had Montreal as a play before I looked at that fact.
...Lots of situations with both teams playing back to back while travelling. Tiger has posted an angle that this situations generally leads to games going under, which it has historically. I have personally noticed a very high percentage of games going over in this scenario this year. In the NBA I play over in this situation because teams get tired legs so they play soft defense and commit too many fouls. The same could be happening this year in the NHL. Those situations are NSH/CLB, DET/OTT, CHI/COL and CAL/VAN.
...Colorado, Vancouver and Columbus are situations where a team comes home the night after a road win, generally a good fade scenario. I believe with Colorado that angle loses its spirit because you are figuring that a team would be drained from a hard fought win and they won very easily last night.
...Jose Theodore has shutouts in two straight games. He is halfway to the Montreal record for consecutive shutouts and he is playing on national TV in Canada today.
...Would you want to be Ottawa tonight? Detroit is 3-0-1 after a home loss and the one tie was in a game where they utterly dominated Phoenix but were baffled by Sean Burke all night. It should be noted, though, that only one of those four games was played on the road after a home loss and only one game was played back to back. They were the same situation, a 1-0 win at Nashville way back in October. Ottawa should have Hurme in net and he was the victim of an OT loss on a fluke goal at Detroit a couple of weeks ago.
