Is it just me, or isn't this the result every time you start one of these kind of threads?

Lots of time it is....yes indeed.

That's why I think it so so hard to get an edge in this sport. I want this question answered?

Why did the Vikings stop throwing down the field? The whole world knows what a shitty secondary the Packers have, and they showed it on that first TD to Moss. Why would you not continue to exploit that?

How does ANY team give up 261 yards rushing on 34 carries? 7.7 per rush? Favre didn't NEED to throw the ball last night!

Hey.....I'm as happy as can be that they won, but there is not a soul out there, who could have predicted this! Yes, the books would have gotten my money on this game, but I gave up on the NFL. If you can beat it guys......good for you!

I still say that week in, and week out, there are more games that leave you scratching your head, than stuffing your wallet.

I think you are giving the Vikings too much respect and the Packers not enough. You listed all the reasons in this thread to jump on the Vikings and left out the reasons to take the Packers. You made it sound like the Packers should'nt have even shown up to play the game. I agree with the facts you pointed out but you make it sound like the Vikings are the best team in the league and the Packers are the worst. The Packers had their backs against the wall and needed this game more than the Vikings.

Jeff-you hit the nail on the head.YYZ embodies ill-informed,first blush PUBLIC opinion. He is the reverse barometer,he does it week in and week out and yet he's still here, pretending he knows something, pretending he bets. This is why he thinks no one else can win, because he is such a profound and public loser. The mouthy know nothing guy hanging around the barbershop.

Hey.....Alaskan "ass"assin. Nice to see you pulled your dick out of a seal long enough to post.

For a guy who continues to lose at a rate as fast as anyone on this site, you have so much room to talk. Keep pimpin' that 53% you hit at that coveted bestbettor, including all those sweet 2-1 favorites in bases. This site is full of nothing but "losers", if you step back long enough to look. Yeah....every once in a while someone hits a streak for a season or two, but more often than not, this place has the 47-53%ers just like you and me. I'm just another middle of the road pseudo-capper who at least has the balls to admit it. You continue the three year trend of believing you actually have some skill at this, which your record obviously proves aint so. Almost 250 games over .500 for you, and -$2,500 cash flow? Keep thinking you're a "winner", stud.............

nfl

nfl

i have an opinion:rolleyes: (also an asshole):p

this is the nfl. each team has 55? or so of "the best athletes in the world of football" so that nothing that happens in this league is a surprise. i think therefore that the teams playing with the most EMOTION are the one's to bet on. figuring that out is the
hard part---not the spread. have never done a study but i would
bet that the #3 as far as spread goes is the most common #
put out by vegas. the mere spread # pretty much tells you that the teams are even. therefore EMOTIONS(and turnovers, of course) pretty much tell you who is gonna win.
sometimes you can make a play AGAINST a player(yesterday i played against "bonehead" Griese and the dolphins) and won.
EVERY angle, etc said play miami, but as good as griese looked against sd---he looked just as bad against a decent defense(2 fumbles, which i believe makes as many fumbles as games started in his career). fade this guy in a MEANINGFUL game and you will make $

also in this league, 2-3 plays make a difference in your bet.
lost the under 49 packer bet last night due to 1 play (i think anyway) which was favre's interception before the half on 3rd and long that gave the vikes a short field td. take away that
play and pack punts and i really dont believe that mn goes 80 yds for a td and thusly gb would not be in a hurry to get back down the field to make 34 points at halftime.

i remember spurrier talking while he was still in college about how much he disliked playing alabama. said they were very difficult to prepare for. what struck me though was him saying that fl just seemed to make 2 or 3 more plays than al did when they played.

after hearing him say that, and being a recreational bettor, i have always approached this nfl betting with an eye towards which tm
will be the one to make those 2-3 plays to get the win and cover.
lots easier said than done---so then i fall back on EMOTION.

Exactly what I was thinking. Why not just throw the ball up for grabs to Moss and whoever the dedender is at the time. Moss will come down with it at least 1 out of 3 times. That's a first down or a TD every freaking series of downs.

Then again, what the hell do I know about burning up the clock and keeping your offense on the field more than your defense.
