...like now, people posting all this crap about CMU, saying they would go 0-16 in ACC. What a joke.

Just like they posted Butler and SIU would lose by 40 to BC and NCSU after their conference championship games.

You cannot judge a team by one game. Based on the tournament performances of those three teams, it was obvious they belonged.

This just happened to be a bad matchup for CMU, their guards were too outclassed. But to rail them like this is just silly, they were a pretty good team.

Now 6 days later

"Playing 3 games last weekend and playing on Sunday really hurt Illinois today. They looked tired, etc....then it was a real advantage for ND to go out early last Wed in the Big East tourney, gave them time to rest etc...."

Bombs.....Well said! The thing is people in general will always remember the team from the last time they seen them(especially if they don't see the team play that often) That's the picture that sticks in their heads for the next game and that's one reason the books show a profit in the end. Just because a team plays their worst game of the year, a person who seen that team in that particular game will come out and say they are betting against that team the rest of the year because they're the worst team out there.....just human nature....You see it in every sport. That's why contrarian plays come through a lot. Still say you gotta cap the game out though...more than just looking at the previous scores and the normal stats.
