I'D SAY THE GAME IS BASICALLY A PICK. THE 3 IS FOR HOMEFIELD ADV. DALLAS ALSO PLAYS BETTER AT HOME. THE BOOKS WANT SAN DIEGO MONEY AND THEY ARE GONNA GET IT. DALLAS WINS THIS ONE BY DOUBLE DIGITS.

Big Sd fan here and nothing would surprise me here but I dont see SD being blown out by anyone in the near future - the offense will keep them in games. The line is right and I could see Dallas getting out quickly in this one. It all depends how they handle that which lately has been poor - see last week and OAK.

Good luck either way

Ya it happened again on Sunday, Dallas melted down under the mounting playoff pressures of December. :nooo:

Sorry Jon :sadwave:

Meanwhile...SD got er done for Norv Turner once again and has proven to be one of the best late-season teams in the league. At this point, SD is
actually one of the top teams overall in the NFL, and to get points with a club playing so well is a gift.
Hmm.... a gift from Vegas? :mj03:

What reason is there to think that the Cowboys are better than a team that has won seven straight games?
After all, they couldn?t even beat a team that was ready to be left for dead in the Giants. :142smilie

:director: Take a look at this trend on how San Diego snuffs out good offenses late in the year:

SAN DIEGO is 8-1 ATS (+6.9 Units) versus good offensive teams?averaging >=5.65 yards/play in the second half of the season over the last three seasons.
The average score was SAN DIEGO 28.6, OPPONENT 18.8 - (Rating = 1*). Dallas will be fortunate to get those 19 points, in which case, I can?t see any way it beats the number. :nono:

san diego struggles with power teams....teams that will hit them in the mouth.....pitt + new england.......and excels with finesse teams (indy)

despite san diego have a bad pass defense; if dallas comes out and throws 50 times like last week, they lose....if dallas comes out and runs the ball, controls the game and line of scrimmage, they can and will win

Why do you think Indy is a finesse team? I've never understood why people think this. Just because they have the most cerebral QB to ever play the game and they are the fastest working team in the league how does this make them a finesse team?

Their defense has the 2nd best scoring defense. That is some good finesse defense.

Probably because they do not have a running game to speak of. When you think of power teams they are big, physical types that pound the football control the clock and hit on defense, etc.

Wy do you take offense when someone says something even close to derrogatory about your beloved Colts? Get some thicker skin maybe?

why do i think of indy as a finesse team?

BECAUSE THEY ARE A FINESSE TEAM

smallish d-lineman and linebackers
smaller, quicker, pass-blocking o-lineman
non-existant running game, predicated on stretch plays or draws...not power runs

it's why they struggle with the chargers and steelers (well that and manning isnt as good vs 3-4 defenses)....becasue those teams get physical with the colts.......

now, dont get your panties in a wad becuase i think the colts are a good team and CAN BE physical at times....but they generally arent and pay the price in the playoffs.

they need to play denver in jan.....another smallish team that they own.

Dallas' struggles in November are well-documented. But did you know?

San Diego is 15-0 SU L15 December games?

Dallas has to be favored at home in this game, but I couldn't bet the favorite here.

this is what my book sent me this week:

Here are some of the top matches going into week 14:

* The San Diego Chargers who have won their last 7 games in a row try and continue their streak against the Dallas Cowboys who continue their losing ways in the month of December.
* It?s an NFC East showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants as both teams battle for the top spot in the division.

ok let me try and understand what you are saying:

small players = finesse

and they struggle against "power" teams like San Diego and Pittsburgh

hmm last year they were 2-1 against those 2 teams. the 1 loss was @ (8-8) SD because they won their division yet the colts were 12-4. The worst Rule in the NFL

Its funny - at times Dallas represents the smashmouth type and others they put it all on Romo. If I were them I would be running all 3 of their backs a lot this weekend. SDs D will still be down a starter and perhaps all 3 again. Dallas and Cincinattis offenses remind me of eachother. They have a good enough QB that they think they should be throwing but clearly they are at best when they are running the ball.

However I still think this will come down to how Dallas D handles the offense. They will come out firing and force some early three and outs but they simply wont hold SD down for long.

Chargers are really banged up on Defense. Last week had 3-4 rookies starting and another rotating in and out so i'm sure it's all about that. They made Brady Quinn look like Peyton Manning.

I don't understand what you are saying. Because my Chargers @ 8-8 beat a hot Colts team who is 12-4 in the post season, you say it's the worse rule in the NFL?? Can you elaborate on it? Colts has always struggle against the Chargers in the post season. Peyton is just scared of us. I couldn't believe we won that game without Merriman. If we see you this year in the post season, I think we win that game too.

since they've watered down the divisions to 4 teams and teams play almost everyone in their conference anyway, division winners should get spots in the playoffs NOT guaranteed home games.......1-6 seeds should be based on record.

The line is where it should be.......

The line is where it should be.......

Either team could easily win this game, if it was being played on a neutral field it would be a pk. I like SD in this game because Dallas has shown me their last few games they're slacking off. SD on the other hand has been playing great football.

Dallas keys to victory: Run, run, run the ball on offense. Don't turn the ball over and protect Romo. Also, their defense best be up to the task.

SD keys to victory: Just the opposite in fact. Should concentrate on their passing game and the holes in the Dallas secondary. Need to protect Rivers and not get stupid penalties.
