The funny part about these guys that will die defending these oil companies is that they don't understand that this stuff is a need and not a want. If this was a bunch of farmers gouging the milk prices i will drink water. U can't do this with oil. Yes we have guys that say ride a bike? That is a nice idea if u work less then a couple of miles from work. I can't ride my bike 40 miles. I can't get on mass transit in certain area's. These fukers destroy the economy like no other for simple greed. Isn't 5 billion a quarter enuf? I have to heat my home and don't have an extra 75 thousand to hook up solar energy. The guys that always fight for these oil companies are always the same guys. The me, me, me, guys. Fuk the rest of the nation that is hurting blowing an extra 50 a week on this shit which of course could go right back into the economy. Why do the oil companies always play games around election time? If they are such great people why would u play games like this? I hear the prices are coming down 50 cents. When has a prediction of oil prices been correct? Wouldn't surprise me if they go up another fifty cents and be around five dollar at election time to run Obama right out of office.

There is no shortage. Supplies are rising and usage is going down.
Oil companies again making record profits. Prices rising. I think it's time America stood up to these crooks. Our own oil companies.

Stevie that is the problem. This country is useless if u want to get people to stick together.

It is unreal. These oil companies make record profits and the Republicans want to continue to give them welfare. Yes a guy loses his job and they wouldn't give him the money for peanut butter. I really do not understand it. And yes, this is a need. This is what these oil companies terrorists.

smartest thing you`ve ever said(maybe the only smart thing you`ve ever said)....
those taxes are passed on to the consumer...and i`m not even talking the "hidden" taxes....the so-called built in taxes(corporate taxes/environmental fees etc)..it`s not called "taxes"...but you pay it right on top of the other 48 cents you pay off the top in state and federal taxes.....they`re passed on......

the rich could care less...the oil companies could care less......it doesn`t bother them.......obama`s happy....he figures he`ll make it so expensive that he can force everyone to take mass transit and he can impose his cap and trade scam...

and the funniest part....you hear one speech after another from obama, the democrats and the left demonizing the oil companies, demanding that they be punished for their outrageous greed and calling for EVEN MORE taxes to be imposed on them THAT YOU WILL END UP PAYING........

 :mj07:

obama knows this...it`s what he wants...

we`re being played like violins...

it`s the average joe that gets hammered...with all these taxes/fees...

the federal government alone is borrowing one hundred and eighty eight million dollars EVERY HOUR to fund its out of control spending habit. ....

$188,000,000 ...every hour of every day.....and that isn't enough....so what`s their answer to the government spending death spiral ?...spend more and tax more...borrow more...:142smilie

You couldn't say it any better. And you have simpletons in here sticking up for being fucked over at the pump. You can't explain America any better than that. The poor and the middle class standing up and fighting for oil companies. Embarrassing.

So how much of the worlds oil do non-state run oil companies control and how many seats do they have at OPEC where oil prices and production are decided? I think less than 10% and 0 are the answers. Exxon, Shell, etc ride the waves of oil prices and have zero say or sway. They are insignificant. They might be big in our world, btut they find realatvily small pools of oil and sell at the market price. Its good for them now, because these scum bag countries and their state run oil companies call the shots. If you suggest invading Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Venzuela, etc and seizing their oil for our plunder, then we can drop the prices very quickly. If we didnt take Iraq's, little chance we'll take their's I fear.

And, I'm guessing this is heading for the political forum very shortly.

And, if we were not run by complete morons, the obvious answer would be subsidies that only kick in when oil prices fall below certain levels based on something or another. Yeah, its a state run and socialist idea, but when the game is played and rules made by dictators and socialists who control the oil, not much you can do. Oil companies got pummeled for years when gas was cheap and they had no say in the price. Now, they are no smarter but all of a sudden evil geniuses.

That might explain the price of OIL, to some extent......but it doesn't help with the cost of GAS.

Gas still hasn't dropped a penny, even though oil dropped almost $6.

I can promise you, with no doubt, when oil goes up $6, gas will climb several cents! (You already know this.)
