I see Stan got to the Rolling Stones song before I could....

"Oh, when your sitting back
in your rose pink cadillac
makin' bets on kentucky derby day..
I'll be in my basement room,
with a needle and a spoon--
another girl to take my pain away......"

Ian--

My man! My fav Stones tune also. Had the pleasure of seeing them in late 1988 with 65,000 of my closest friends at Giants stadium in New Jersey....

"woke up in a SoHo doorway,
policeman at my feet,
he said you can sleep at home tonight,
if you can get up and walk away...."

Anders--

Had "New York" in the CD player today, and you are right on-- no better critique of the late 80s than Lou on that disc.

"Like my painter friend Donald says:
Stick a fork in their ass, turn 'em over, they're done...."

Also had a listen to "transformer" today-- it was just a Lou Reed kinda day today

Strawman

We who have so much to you who have so little
to you who don't have anything at all
We who have so much more than any one man does need
and you who don't have anything at all, ah
Does anybody need another million dollar movie
does anybody need another million dollar star
Does anybody need to be told over and over
spitting in the wind comes back at you twice as hard

Strawman, going straight to the devil
strawman, going straight to hell
Strawman, going straight to the devil

Strawman
strawman
Strawman
strawman, yes

Does anyone really need a billion dollar rocket
does anyone need a 60,000 dollars car
Does anyone need another president
or the sins of Swaggart parts 6, 7, 8 and 9, ah
Does anyone need yet another politician
caught with his pants down and money sticking in his hole
Does anyone need another racist preacher
spittin' in the wind can only do you harm, ooohhh

Strawman, going straight to the devil
strawman, going straight to hell
Strawman, going straight to the devil

Strawman
strawman
Strawman
strawman

Does anyone need another faulty shuttle
blasting off to the moon, Venus or Mars
Does anybody need another self-righteous rock singer
whose nose he says has led him straight to God
Does anyone need yet another blank skyscraper
if you're like me I'm sure a minor miracle will do
A flaming sword or maybe a gold ark floating up the Hudson
when you spit in the wind it comes right back at you

Strawman, going straight to the devil
Strawman, going straight to hell
Strawman, going to the devil

Strawman, strawman
strawman, ...., ah
Strawman
strawman

Anyhow...

Recapping those yet to be solved:

Ian's "I think I'll find a pair of eyes tonight..."

Snake P's offering - how those Pizzas flinging Snake?

JT's sleeper fave and his "mountain top" toon...

Ah so no one nailed those two. Well, first one was "Reflected" by Lone Justice a country rock band from LA. Lead singer is Maria McKee. Second one is "Roll Me Away" from Bob Seger.

"Who are you?" by The Who.....

1. Here's an easy one: "We used to play for silver, now we play for life; And one's for sport and one's for blood at the point of a knife. And now the die is shaken, now the die must fall. There ain't a winner in the game, he don't go home with all. Not with all....."

2. "Sensurround sound in a 2-inch wall...Well, I was waiting for the communist call. I didn't ask for sunshine but I got World War three. I'm lookin' over the wall, and they're lookin' at me....."

Ian - Never mind the bollocks, but I figured YOU would get that one.

Anders: I agree, that Maria Mckee album is a must have. Carole King "Tapestry" wasn't too shabby either........
