DENVER NUGGETS +7 - While there is no denying that the Sonics are the more talented of these two teams, they are currently treading water at just 15-15 overall. Moreover, only 3 of their 9 road wins have been by more than 7 points, meaning that they would be 3-15 ATS on the road vs. tonight?s posted line! As if this wasn?t bad enough, they have lost their last 5 trips to Denver OUTRIGHT, 4 of them as favorites, and the Sonics are just 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games in this building. Denver can?t compete with the high powered offenses in the league, but they can hold their own with teams like Seattle that prefer to play a half-court game. While the Nuggets are only 4-11 S/U at home this year, their defense is only allowing a commendable 87.2 points per game here. They don?t figure to allow much more than that vs. a Seattle team that has failed to reach 90 points in 5 of its last 7 games. Given this scenario, I see no reason why the Nuggets can?t score at least 80 points, which is probably all that would be necessary to cover this spot.
