actually hope Rashard plays ...

after reading what Kerr said about POP being PO'd about layins, and the sonics perimeter trio shooting 60% each last game, I dont see the soups busting the scoreboard; POP also implied some hard fouls will be given .... spurs had 20 TOs in game 4 that led to many easy soup hoops ... spurs throttled NUGS on D in san antone to 76, 78, 89 ...

seattle should struggle to break 90 ... so Im going with this

soups under 88

oh well w/o rashard this bet is down the tubes; game too wide open ... i cant believe how bad spurs are, not impressed at all with their personel anymore ... w/o TD and Gino theyd be an absolute zero on offense ... TP a joke, Barry a joke, they wont even trot out Nesto anymore; wheres Big Dog? ... Bowen is being used by Ray, he chases behind every pick and is lost ... had spurs ML FH (to Pistons and Yankees) and never trailed or tied until end, thanx to TD's bricks and missed layins by him and TP ... sorry to vent, but man Im not impressed with Spurs at all ... i really hope sonics win SU now ... spurs cant guard them on perimeter ... after 2 pts in opening 6 mins i thought the soincs U88 was near lock, now its got lil chance ...

I think you are being to harsh on Spurs and not giving enough credit to Sonics. Sonics are playing great despite their shortcomings. They also create a lot of matchup problems. They also beat a really good team in round 1 (Kings).

Spurs won tonight by 13pts despite Parker playing a HORRIBLE game. Says a lot.

Spurs should have won game 3, but missed way too many free throws. Game 4 Spurs had way too many turnovers and Sonics played LIGHTS OUT. Series easily could be over and Spurs winning it in 5. Spurs got sloppy on road and cost themselves. I doubt Spurs repeat that performance in next round (provided they advance).

I think with Spurs its all about focus. They didn't bring it to games 3 and 4. Can you blame them? Blowing out sonics in first 2 games they thought they had series in bag. They gambled and lost and now must try and win series in 6 or 7 games. Spurs missed 15 free throws in game 3, if they made just 1 more they prob. win that game. Then Series would have been over in 5 games.

I am willing to bet that Spurs bring their focus in next series to every game unless they go up 3-0. Makes big difference.

Lakers did same thing in playoffs and went to 4 straight NBA finals and won 3 straight championships. Teams often get complacement. Happened to Pistons against Pacers. Remember, Pacers and Sonics are damn good teams. They are not the Wizards.

sorry about the loss....had sonics and under.....could have used that blown layup with 20 secs left for a split (getting 11.5)

scott:

kings were not a really good team.

spurs look completely solid one game
lost the next

not sure what to make of this team but dont see them as an overwhelming fav to win it all....think that phx, dal,sa,det, mia are all fairly close with mia having the most potential because of wade-shaq

Scott...........explain to me how the Spurs come out for gm 4 after losing gm 3 with no focus...................????

That makes no sense at all...........

The fact is that the Spurs are no where as dominate as the public believes they are..........

By the way will the spurs come out with or without focus in gm 6.???

Maybe that is why Spurs HC Popovich was livid after game 3. He said only Duncan came to play and was disappointed. I think Pop and vast majority felt Spurs would come to play in game 4. Hell I did. I won $$$ with Pistons ML earlier in day and put all the winnings on Spurs ML and lost.

Spurs played with a lot more passion tonight vs games 3 and 4. Spurs won by 13pts tonight despite Parker playing HORRIBLE. Spurs played extremely well in games 1 and 2 and blew out Sonics and I think they thought the series was OVER. Spurs lost game 4 by 1pt on road, despite missing 15 free throws and Duncan missed final shot that he makes majority of the time. Game 4 hand it to Sonics for playing exceptionally well and Spurs committed tooo many turnovers.

Spurs won crucial game tonight by 13pts. Congrats to Spurs! They got the job done.

Don't forget this series would be over if Spurs made 1 or 2 more free throws instead of missing 15. Or if Duncan made game winning shot where it wasn't difficult shot. Don't forget Spurs BEAT the hottest team in the NBA since all star break. They beat the Nuggets in 5 games.

Sorry, but I am still impressed with Spurs. I don't think they are unstoppable but I do think they clearly are the best team in the NBA. People need to start giving Sonics some credit for stepping up and playing well.

Spurs won't lose focus against Suns/Mavs/Pistons/Heat/Pacers

1) Spurs
2) Pistons
3) Heat
4) Suns/Mavs (tie)
5) Pacers
6) Sonics
7) Wizards (by landslide #7)

Kings are a better team than Wizards and Nets. I have been more impressed with the Sonics vs the Heat in the playoffs. Doesn't mean I think Sonics are better but I am not imrpessed with the Heat because they have not been tested. Kings are a quality team. Spurs had the toughest 1st round opponent and Sonics prob. had the 2nd toughest 1st round opponent.

spurs look completely solid one game
lost the next

Spurs beat the hottest team in NBA in 1st round in 5 games.

Spurs beat Sonics by 22pts in game 1.

Spurs beat Sonics by 17pts in game 2

Spurs might have lost focus in series and.....

Spurs lost by 1pt in game 3 (despite missing 15 free throws and Duncan missing game winning shot)

Spurs lost by 11pts in game 5 where Sonics dominated late 3q/4q but Sonics played flawless b-ball. Congrats to Sonics.

Spurs won game 5 by 13pts with having a lead majority of the game. Also did this with Parker playing POORLY!

WHY ARE PEOPLE DOUBTING THE SPURS? Remember, this Sonics team beat the Kings in round 1 and have multiple players playing great basketball. Yes they are shorthanded but they still have a lot of talented players playing and playing well.

Maybe if Spurs swept Nets and Wizards people would be pumping them up. I guess beating the hottest team in NBA in 5 games (despite losing game 1 where Spurs sorta gave game away) and Spurs beating a solid Sonics squad playing well who beat the Kings in round 1.

Sonics are a very good team and playing as well as they can right now. Spurs look vulnerable at times, but the bottom line is someone has stepped up and gotten the job done. Duncan in game 4, Ginobili tonight.

Next game will be very interesting. As a matter of fact, the playoffs are going to be very interesting from here on in. But Spurs have still got my vote to win it all. If not, then Miami.

I AGREE!

Except I am not sold on Miami because there is nothing to be sold on. In fact, Miami prob. has the most question marks of any team in the playoffs! Nobody knows how Miami will do against a quality opponent in playoffs? Nobody knows how Miami will do when facing adversity? (except they did win without Shaq so props to them for that) Nobody knows how healthy and effective Shaq will be in next round of playoffs? We do know Shaq has not looked good and that was against BAD COMPETITION! We do know Shaq is injured. Miami has not faced any great defensive teams who have solid big men. Combine health of shaq and not facing quality competition (no big men threats) Miami has many question marks!

Here is the scary thing for Miami.

Pistons look great in game 5. If Pistons look great again in game 6 on road, WATCH OUT! Pistons will be coming into Miami series with major momentum and confidence. Miami has back to back sweeps against bad teams but super long layoff AND injured Shaq who has not played in a VERY long time. Setting up very nicely for Detroit!

scott,

im sorry, but as U know spurs have been my fave team since TD got there, I certainly know their strengths and weaknesses ... I dont know why POP ended up having troubles with Malik Rose, but that guy always gave them some muscle and great effort, now they have no one like that ... speedy claxton was solid, stephen jackson (altho he had his blunders) was explosive ...

now you got udrih (so-so), Barry horrible (just atrocious), Nesto (biggest waste of cash since i bought sea monkeys thru a comic book), Bowen whose offense gets more laffable everytime i watch him, and TP who just seems to get more Desperate Housewifed with each passing episode (yay! he hit some garbage hoops when it meant nothing)

This team is certainly no lock for carrying home their third trophy ... What i saw in refocused Deet makes me think they might be fave with gun at head ... I woulnd't put my 401 on fact that spurs beat virgin sonics at home, a team minus 2 of their top 3 scorers ... Like i said I love the Spurs, Gino and TD have been my fave players for a long time, but this team's athlectism is a joke... Joe Johnson being out might save Spurs bacon, but even Mavs have valid chance for West.
