"Just think logically. Alot of money at stake and a very shady gambling element in the shadows. So it would be very naive to think that a certain amount of corruption wouldn't creep into it."

YOU are being naive and not thinking logically. The NFL has hundreds of billions of dollars at stake. It is in their best interest a million times over to ENSURE that games are not fixed.

Also, football has so many players, coaches, and refs involved... it would be very hard for a rogue individual to make the necessary difference without being exposed. If you are insinuating that ALL of these people are in on these fixes and they are able to keep covering it up year after year, then, again, you are being naive.

The casinos clean up in the NFL every year, would they risk it all for a few bucks? the NFL makes hundreds of billions on this game... would they risk it?... of course not. All the big game players make millions of dollars a year... how much is worth it to them. It doesn't happen.

Has a ref ever taken money from a gambler? Has an NFL player? I wouldn't be shocked if it has been attempted. But, there is WAYYY to much at stake to think that there is some sort of conspiracy going on. It is ludicrous.

And frankly, EVERY game where someone is losing, or a bad call is made, or the team that was SUPPOSED to win, didn't, everyone is calling for a fix. It is childish and boring. Think it through, people.

Why did you lay off if you thought it would be fixed?? You should have pounded the Rams!!

I didnt lay off because i thought it would be fixed,i laid off because of the simple fact that every bit of the public would arrive at the same conclusion to take the saints.Im not sure why teams are required to release injury related information seems like it can only benefit people betting on games. To me that shows alot of influence betting has on the sport

another line of thinking

another line of thinking

After a Blowout of 55pts it is actually normal what happend to Saints, research this:

E.G. Detroit won the first half 24-3 vs Denver, now go back to the last 3-4 Detroit games and write down the first halves, u'll see there was a correction overdue.

another; last week's MNF, Baltimore-Jacksonville, go back last 2-3 week's (both teams) u'll a correction was overdue. There's tons of games I can put as examples, where upset happens (in every sport) and to the "public" theres no other explanation than the games must be rigged.

This Week candidates games to go into the bizarre zone: Miami vs KC, Wash vs SF, NYJ vs Buffalo, Cleveland vs Houston, Indy vs Atl

And in almost all those game guess what happend to the line movement? despite very few bettors on those teams (underdogs) the line instead of going up giving more points to those teams, it went down

Note: this week in particular im weary of those games because QB issues, and the ones that are away teams, because most of the time the correction happens the team is at home. eg Jacks, St. Louis etc.

People who are going to fix games are the ones who don't make any money. Such as; Refs and college players.

NFL players make millions and it would be really stupid to risk that by fixing a game for a few thousand. Anything more than a few thousand is a red flag to the folks in Vegas. I've read and heard that Vegas knows exactly who are betting big on games, and if someone out of the norm comes in to lay several thousand on a game, such as a college kid, then red flag.

I highly doubt there red flagging people betting 3-4 grand on a game in vegas

Where it is real F ing COLD
I don't think anyone should be shocked by the Saints losing in St. Louis.

The Saints were whooped on by the Buccanears early and the Saints also lost in Seattle in a playoff game as 10 point favorites. Saints are a team who hasn't played very well from home..

Add in the banged up offensive line and poor special teams and there you go.. The Rams defense actually kept Rogers for GB at bay (no pun) for many passes. Pack scored 24 points and 2 TDs were on long bombs, no sustained drives and when playing Dallas Murray went nuts. Saints had issue on O line and Ingram was out and the Saints run game was not respected.. Then a team falls behind and presses then picks tend to happen.

"the bunker"
i think somebody alluded to this, but, keep an eye on teams that put up lots of points the preceding week...they tend to flatten out offensively...

I never said they were red flagging 3 to 4 grand. I said anything more than a few thousand might be red flagged. What I remember from the story was that a couple of college kids bet somewhere around $10k at a couple of different casinos. They weren't the normal sports type bettors and that's how Arizona St players were caught fixing after the casinos alerted one another....

Exactly.

And, as far as "the Fix" goes...I know Totals get a lot less action than Sides, but I did notice that the OVER had about 80% on board going into the game...
...seems a little bit strange that those shonky Refs allowed the Saints to march up the field and score so late...

(Oh, and is Spongey's Tebow-fix theory dead and buried after last week? :D ...[even tho, again, Denver had around 75% of the action v. Miami...] ;) )
