I think South Florida is going to lay a whoop ass on Rutgers.

But my college record leaves something to be desired.

Time to turn things around.

Stop Rice and Rutgers falls.

Stopping Ray?s Run

USF has not allowed a player to rush for over 100 yards since Rutgers? Ray Rice went for 202 at Raymond James last season ... That is a span of 14 games ... Only six players have rushed for over 100 yards against the Bulls defense since the start of 2005 .... The USF defense, in addition to creating 21 turnovers this season, has had some success shutting down the top offensive weapons on opposing teams this season. USF?s defense held West Virginia Heisman candidates Steve Slaton (54 yards), Pat White (36 yards) and UCF?s Kevin Smith (55 yards), who led the country in rushing yards per game - to a combined 145 yards rushing this season. That is less than Smith averaged ? 172 yards - entering the game against USF.

I would be worried about South Florida on the road. I know they beat Auburn, but they needed numerous turnovers to make it happen. I also just witnessed South Florida barely win @ Florida Atlantic about 10 days ago.

You have the #2 team in the country laying just 2.5 or 3 on the road? This sure looks like a trap IMO as well.

hey ju

My read on it is that the books are playing patty cakes with the line because they want money on Rutgers.

I still say South Florida is 3 times better than Rutgers, and will win handily.

Guess we will see Thursday night.

I think USF is for real also.
They have a fast , hard hitting Def. A sack master in Selvie . A all over the field LB in B.Moffitt
and 2 future NFL 1st or 2nd rd players in CB's
M.Jenkins & T.Williams.

Rutgers lost to Maryland in Rutgers Stadium 3 weeks ago. The craziest thing about that to me is
RU was coming off a bye.

I think USF will win fairly easily.

If they wanted money on Rutgers, the line would be moving the other way.

No guarantee on who wins/covers, but this line looks very fishy and the movement looks even fishier.

That said, congrats on the G-Men win.

SFla beat Elon 28-13 what does that have to do with this game? Sfla is a great story but there is no way in hell this is the no.2 team in the country and they will not win this game.

thanks TD

The books do not always move lines as they should. Thats why the line looks fishy.

Thats why I believe SF will prevail and cover.

--RB Ray Rice broke out of his cold spell with a vengeance, rushing for 196 yards and three touchdowns against Syracuse. That broke a string of three consecutive sub-100-yard games. He's also the last back to have success against South Florida, running for 202 yards against the Bulls last season.

--WR Kenny Britt started the season off in Tiquan Underwood's shadow, but now is within 25 yards of Underwood for the team's lead after catching six passes for 176 yards against Syracuse. There's a reason Britt was thought of as a pro prospect before the season started; he has the speed and the hands to make things happen when he gets the ball.

SCOUTING THE OFFENSE: Mike Teel and the offense will have its hands full against an imposing South Florida squad. But it showed it could do the job a year ago, squeaking past the Bulls on the road. And Ray Rice is still causing defenders to lose sleep based on his 202-yard performance in last year's game.

SCOUTING THE DEFENSE: The job of the Rutgers defense will be to keep South Florida out of the end zone, even if the vaunted Bulls defense forces turnovers. Joe Lefeged has shown the ability to make big hits in recent weeks, enough to tick off opposing coaches who feel he sometimes crosses the line. If he can knock the ball free from a couple of South Florida players, Rutgers should be in business.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "Their defense is athletic. They have two of the best corners in the nation, they're fast up front, similar to us, and you can't run left and right on them. ... We just have to try to make plays on them." -- Rutgers running back Ray Rice, looking ahead to the matchup with South Florida, in the Newark Star-Ledger.

Some notes I found on the Rutger side of the ball.

They also beat

West Virginia
@Auburn .

With all the top teams going down
why shouldn't they be #2 ?

Rutgers is not as good as last year.

I don't think SF is 2nd best team out there. But that's not what the polls are about and thats where people get confused.

Its more of a process to decide who gets to be where.

Overall its a bs way to determine a nat'l champ but it can be a fun process too.

I realize who they have beaten but you were commenting on who Rutgers has lost to, do you consider the fact that SF struggled against Elon? They are No.2 because they have not lost yet, that will change after tomorrow

the more I think about it, the more I think the Bulls will shut RAY RAY down.

Even it they lose the game, it will be a victory of sorts to get some revenge payback on Rice.

The incentive is there from the embarressment of him running rampant against their defense last year.

I wonder if a prop under 100 yds for Rice is out there.

This reminds me that the Bulls could easily win by two tits, I mean two touchdowns.
