u can get the soutwest widget on your desktop too, and it will tell you when the fares go down (since you have so much time).
try back after June 26th, they are going to allow reservations through January 9th 2009.
cheap flights to ft. lauderdale for some reason. I just checked again, and the cheapest by far seem to be to New Orleans. U can fly there for a song. Ultra cheap.
Never flew with southwest but with all the talk here thought we give them a shot just need to see what Christmas time rates will be.

We're probably booking within the next few days to Georgia on Xmas day.
I'm checking with a travel agent too because she got us a great deal for Mem day weekend. Doesn't hurt to ask!

been looking for fares back to vegas and even from when i got my flight to vegas for last week, SWA was one of the highest.
i used to hate SWA and then i got to like them A LOT and now i'm back to hating them.
they basically charge extra for A GROUP seating now. i checked in 24 hours for my son's trip back to maryland and could only get GROUP B. bastids.
Those "A GROUP" seats are nothing but priority boarding and two free cocktails. So you get on first on SW and you:
A) Take aisle seat, guarding perimeter with USA Today open wide.
B) Take window seat and hope for big ankle woman to nab the aisle for the block.
C) Or take the middle, like Bobby Fischer, put down the tray table, boot up your laptop, spread out your seven dollar airport danish on the aisle seat. Most importantly, never make eye contact with anyone (unless there's a hot chick)
Last flight Midway to STL they divert to KC for more fuel because storms prevent landing. We sit on runway in KC for an hour waiting for weather to clear. We finally get to STL at midnite and we sit 20 yards from the gate because the flashlight guy can't come out when there is lightning within 5 miles of the airport.
The worst part was no in-flight beverage service bacause of turbulence. I went down holding the free drink tickets. But that kind of shit happens on any airline of course.

i understand that and used to like it because all you had to do was check-in online 24 hours in advance and you were assured of a good seat. if you get C GROUP you'll prob wind up sitting between 2 suma wrestlers.
they are charging for A GROUP now claiming it as business class
