I get to watch my fair share of Sox games during the year so here's a quick blip from what I've seen.
Game #1 first pitch temps high 40's dropping to low 40's by 11pm (chilly), wind in from center around 8mph...Rain throughout the day in Boston slowing late afternoon so players probably wont get much time of the field pregame.
Boston Starters:
Sale: He'll go 4-5 strong innings and give way to the pen. Cora wont risk injury here.
Price: He'll have you scratching your head and tossing your beers all game. Cora should yank him at the first sign of trouble. Potential OVER play
Eovaldi: He has been lights out of late, money 100mph fastballs....Should go 6-7 strong inns. Hasn't given up many runs of late.
Porcello: Steady and solid starter....Should give a strong 6 inns., can also go for long relief.
Boston Pen:
Pomeranz: Can eat up inns if a starter fails.
Barnes: Gas, fairly solid
Brasier: Can be scary at times, looked nervous early in the playoffs.
Kelly: Gas, be ready to dive out of the box can be wild as hell....Struggles out of the stretch with runners on.
Hembree: Solid late inn arm
Rodriguez: Can start, go long or check in for the 8th/9th. Nice option to have for Cora
Kimbrel: Is it too late to trade for a closer? Seeing him run onto the field will get your heart racing...Better hope he's coming in with a 3 run lead because he'll allow runners to score.
As far as the series, who knows.... Sox in 6?.....I feel the money to be made is grabbing the Dodgers in-game (Plus runs) if they get down 3-4 runs early in a game....Sox pen tends to give up way too may runs once they are up and Kimbrel struggles to get the side in order especially with runners on....
Sox can and should score plenty in the series, solid bats top to bottom and off the bench....Cora will have runners moving and make quick pitching moves.... The pitching is well rested but can be scary at times.....Should be an interesting series.....:0008
