As stated " Horrible Footage ". Don't know if this is true but in the past the driver bragged about how fast he could go.

Yeah I guess he posted that on his face book page.

Over 100 mph on a posted 50 mph curve. I worked for the RR for a while and freight trains at 50 mph are scary!

On a curve, buff and draft forces are at play and are major factors in many derailments.

There's a time to "open the throttle."

But you need to know where and when.

Freight train going 50 mph has to be really scary, my wife & I were on the Euro- Star London to Paris , I think that goes close to 100 mph.
Really feel bad for the families & injured.
