The defensive preparation should be familiar for the University of Richmond early this week.

The Spiders dealt with what was essentially a four-guard offense on Saturday night at Duquesne, which prevailed 81-72.

UR (12-12, 3-6 in the A-10) on Wednesday plays La Salle (17-7, 6-3) at the Robins Center at 7 p.m. The Explorers? strength is ?their overall ability to score,? UR coach Chris Mooney said.
La Salle, off to its best start since 1989-90, averages 75 points, and they come from all over the starting lineup, which includes only one player taller than 6-foot-5. Each of the four Explorers guards average in double-figures, and is a 3-point threat.

?They have so many guys on the floor who can score, who can shoot 3s, who can break you down,? Mooney said. ?That always is kind of a tough thing to defend because everybody out there can do something.

?I think it?s sometimes easier when you have a team that?s a little bit more traditional, and you know two of the guys can?t really do anything on the perimeter. When everybody can do something, that makes it difficult.?

La Salle averages 8.3 3-pointers per game, which ties UR for the lead in the A-10.
