People are being told they will receive an email by midnight tonight regarding how they can withdraw their funds. If you have an account with this book you might want to check the status of it. I do not have one but know of some people who do, and they are being shut out. Here is a conversation log someone had with a SB.com customer service agent....

Hello, my name is Jody Jackson. How may I help you today?
X: Why is my account disabled?
Jody Jackson: one moment please
X: Thanks
Jody Jackson: Your account has been temporarily de-activated due to the fact that the state that you registered the account under does not allow internet gaming. Our accounts department will be updating us shortly as to the status of any funds or pending wagers in your account. We will be contacting you as soon as possible with this information. Please accept out most sincere apologies for this, and we thank you for your understanding.
X: I didn't think Michigan was on the restricted states list
Jody Jackson: I'm afraid it is Matt
X: So I will never be able to use your site again?
Jody Jackson: Once again, we understand your concern. Please be assured that we are working right now to find the best way to deal with this issue. At the moment we do not have any more information for you regarding this. Please accept our most sincere apologies.
X: what about my pending wagers, will they all be canceled?
Jody Jackson: I do not have that information at the moment, I can only ask that you wait for the email
X: When can I expect the email?
Jody Jackson: hopefully before midnight tonight
X: Thanks for your help
Jody Jackson: you're welcome

Lots of noise in the news about online gambling this past weekend, but don?t believe the hype. It?s business as usual at Sportsbook.com.

You can still deposit via your credit card, Neteller, Firepay or E-check, you have fast access to your winnings (and now even in cash - see below), your transactions are always safe, secure and private 24/7, and, of course, you get better odds than anywhere else.

The real news this weekend, aside from Saturday?s clashes between Texas and Oklahoma and LSU vs. Florida, is that T.O. is almost certain to play Sunday back ?home? in Philly. The Cowboys/Eagles games have always been colorful so this should be an ugly Sunday. Philly?s getting all the action so far?as is the under?it?s going to be a tight game.

And when you?re cashing in your V-chips, select the Debit1 option. Instead of a check, we?ll send you a cool ATM card you can use for cash at the supermarket, gas station, liquor store?anywhere you can pay with an ATM card. Now that?s news you can use. And your next withdrawal is even faster as we just credit your account online and the cash is there for you. No checks, no FedEx or DHL, no waiting?choose the Debit1 option on your next withdrawal.

Have another great winning weekend.

Regards,

The Sportsbook.com Team

here was my response from a live chat with customer service:

Kevin: are you no longer accepting deposits and bets from US customers?

Selina Kyle: Thank you for contacting us regarding the introduction of Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006. While your concerns are much appreciated, we would like to take this opportunity to reassure all of our loyal customers that it is business as usual.

I hate sportsbook.com. Haven't used them in 6 years, but for some reason still have my account active with them although I haven't had a penny in there or used them in forever. Nothing there for me, but anyway as I digress, I received this email from them. I did not use livechat as I don't care what they do with my account, but thought some of you might find this interesting:

Hi xxxx,

With the recent passing of law effecting financial institutions? transactions with online gaming companies, Sportsbook.com?s parent company, Sportingbet PLC, has decided to stop taking wagers from customers in the US effective immediately.

Does this mean you can?t bet on sports or play blackjack online anymore at Sportsbook.com? Hell no.

Sportsbook.com is open for business as usual. Better than usual, in fact, see below.

So wtf do they mean? They won't take wagers from customers in the US, but HELL NO I can still bet on sports or waste my money on blackjack?

seems like mixed signals to me. I wouldn't chance having any money there.

No more Canadians at Sportsbook.com. I hope they refund my future bet of Over 6.5 wins for the Raiders...
