Should maybe pose this question in sportsbook section--but thought it might get more response here.

Question--what happens to money in sportsbook account if account holder dies? Theres no beneficiary designations.

I'd think that unless it was claimed within the first year it becomes the sportsbooks but i'm pretty sure it is different for each place.

A few years back I had left $600 bucks in my 5 dimes account and didnt sign in till this year to notice it and was like WTF.

That's a pretty interesting question though.

Used to be a minor concern but more so now.

Used to do year ending balancing via neteller but since their demise have just let funds sit in books and made no deposits or withdrawals--other than a couple new books added this year.

Despite being small time bettor- having 14 books funded has not led to large roll by any means but now worth considering just the same.

I tell you, this is one hell of a good question!

Wouldn't be a prob for me as my wife is in and out of my accounts placing bets:nono: But for others could be a big deal.

Just give your significant other a list of your accounts and passwords. they can initiate online w/d's by paper check. It won't be a problem at all since you say the amounts aren't significant. Assuming you are married, you can still deposit checks from your spouse or vice versa for at least a couple months if one of you are deceased if it is a joint account.

Would have to coach my wife on what accounts are :)
then doubt she could navigate how to ask for withdrawals--plus have several accounts with bogus addresses in other countries and she would have to change address also. Also some accounts in others name which would not be a prob as they could keep account themselves.

It would be huge headache trying to sort through it for my spouse who is Asian--don't think she could it--

Big question answered though (Thanks BDB) is spouse could cash check in my name--I didn't know that.

My wife and I have seperate accounts Chad.

I can't cash checks made out to her unless she endorses it--and the same for me.

Matter of fact I can't go into bank and cash check made out to my business--I have to deposit it into business account.

Would you like China or Hong Kong banking or stock market regs :)

I , unfortunately, dealt with this situation recently with my best friends account at 5 dimes. We sent them a copy of the death notice. They gave us a bit of a hard time, but ultimately sent a check to his wife.
