Let me start by saying I am a dumb ass. I have the goggle tool bar to block pop ups, and I have adaware that I run, however there is two things that keep popping up, one was this Oneweb Media or something like that, which was asking permission to install something, I would always click no, well today i clicked yes to stop it from coming up, well it installed something on my computer, and I get a popup like every 5 minutes whether I am surfing the web or not. I can't find the program they installed, I ran adaware and I thought I got it, but it came back.

Any suggestions on what I can do to get rid of this damn program?

Did you try rebooting???
Can you bootup in safe mode and find it that way???
Oneweb Media or something??? Can yah find the exact name???
Get rid of the google toolbar ASAP!!!
NEVER click yes!!!

There's a file hidden somewhere that reloads everytime you reboot. It can't be deleted because it's a running process.
You need to run Norton or McAffee to identify what the files are. Once you've identified them have antivirus delete as many as possible. Note which ones it couldn't delete. Then hit "Control Alt Delete" to bring up the Windows Security Screen.
Select Task Manager
Processes
and look for a running process associated with the files your antivirus couldn't delete. End that process and you should be able to go back and delete the files that the antivirus couldn't get rid of.

That will stop if from re-loading after Ad Aware or Spybot remove it.

The files you're looking for will most like be in your windows\system32 or winnt\system32 directory as well as your directories "temp" and "temporary internet files" under documents & settings, user name, local settings. Good Luck!!!

Get rid of google toolbar!!!

I am pretty sure it was Onweb Media, I did uninstall the goggle toolbar, I have to figure out how to scan my computer we just installed a new Norton on our server so every scan runs from there.

I haven't had as many popups as I had at first, in fact I only had one today.

Every type of spyware has some stupid way of getting rid of it. I cant tell you how much research I have to do to get rid of peoples spyware at work.

Do a google search and you will find articles on how to remove it as well, I hope you get rid of it!

KMA,

Help, I ran the norton antivirus and it came back clean, it didn't find anything, and I am still getting the pop ups. They are not frequent, but enough to drive a man crazy. And as I type one just popped up. How else can I get rid of this if I don't know what it is?

I run the adaware, and it comes up with a program zazzer that usually isn't there when i run it, so I think it has something to do with that, but everytime I run adaware it shows up.

Also when I do ctrl alt del, it says I have 54 process running, when ad-aware runs, it says I only have 47. Don't know if that means anything.

Also if you know which processes that are associated with this thing so I can stop them. I just ran adaware again and can cofirm this program is ZaZZer, it never showed up before I was a dumb ass and clicked yes, now it's there.
