I didn't want to carry this conversation in the POD thread cuz it would just make it harder to sort thru at end of day for actual plays.

Your withdrawal from the POD doesn't have anything to do with me managing the thread does it? I hope this is just coincidence.

Questionable Lines
I know what you mean. I've watched many ppl put up questionable lines, or piggy backed plays only to post a more favourable line from an earlier post (before the line).

Piggybacking
This is quite obvious. All we can do is ask people to only submit their own POD's. Having a huge consensus on one POD isn't very useful if most of those plays are coat-tailing one hot capper. If you want to ride a hot capper's picks to make cash, go ahead. But posting them as your own POD doesn't really provide any benefit to the forum.

Stag, you've been at or near the top for pretty much the entire season (I know cuz I've been chasing you for just as long). It'd be a shame for you to leave. This forum is open to all and open to suggestions, if you feel there's a way to solve some of the problems you've mentioned, please bring them forward. I've thought of posting lines at the top of the thread for everyone to use just so we're all on same page. I never mentioned this to Mo because he'd already been doing such a great job that if he wasn't complaining, who was I to bitch and make more work for him?

Please reconsider and keep on posting PODs.

Infini......
It has absolutely nothing to do with you. I've always enjoyed your comments!
I'm glad you've noticed the piggybackng and questionable lines that were being posted. I also think that a few people were taking the contest too seriously.
I think some people even faded certain people's plays in order to have a chance of catching that person in the standings. As a result, I started to post picks that were not truly genuine of my beliefs for the contest sake. I got caught up in it. AND, FOR THAT I WAS WRONG! (Hence the mini-slump)
That's why I started my own thread a few months into the season, when I saw what was going on.
I think you need to ask the question: "What is the purpose of the POD?" You can not begin to refine the system before that question is answered by a group of people.
I just want to collect from the offshores at the end of the NHL season and offer some solid plays to the friends I've made here a MadJacks. And I think this "contest" became just that.......too much of a contest. I fell into i too, once I saw what was going on. That's why I need to quit, it's not fair for me or anyone else who read my POD posts. You guys deserve solid plays, not plays which improve rankings.
Shouldn't we be trying to beat the books, not our fellow cappers?
Please remove me from the list. Good luck to you!

I am not in the POD but I have an idea that may settle the odds question. Why not post the line from one of the better casinos earrly in the AM before the first pick is made. Then the people should post their picks according to that line. It should just be a cut and paste deal. I do enjoy looking over all the picks as this is my first year into the NHL.

Stag-

I'm glad to hear that some of your picks lately have been covers for your real picks.

I'm definitely a rookie as far as betting goes, but by following you this year I've been able to learn a lot just by your style of betting and your picks. Lately I thought that some of your picks went against your normal style and it confused me a bit. Just when I thought I had it figured out I thought I lost it. As far as the POD is concerned, I tried to post plays that weren't up because high % consensus plays scare me.

So thanks for all of your indirect help this year, I've learned a lot about betting by following your picks that I wouldn't had if you had not been here.

oh yeah, just curious stag...please tell me that Boston Under the other day was one of those picks you mentioned as a false one. Everything I had pointed to an over and couldn't believe you called the Under for it.
