Looking at this game- found that Dallas has scored at least 3 goals in their last 10 games- that is impressive! They have allowed at least 3 goals in 6 of their last 10 games. Where have the lowing scoring Stars games gone?????

The Sharks have scored at least 3 goals in 7 of their last 10 and only allowed 3 or more in 3 of their last 10 games. Another traditional under team has started to play in a lot more overs than in year's past.

The total system has this as an over and it is hard to argue with these numbers but I have a feeling that this will be a tough game. Don't know if I am going to play the total or the side but looking for other opinions....

chenker, i have some notes under my thread entitled "monday notes" on this one..i watched both stars' games this weekend and you are correct, this is not the stars we are used to seeing win games 2-1. they have a lot more offensive firepower and with that, they have the tendency to give up more goals as well, also belfour has not been playing that well IMO. i hope he was named to the olympic team based on his career and not this season b/c burke has been tremendously better this year..sydor is out tonight with a concussion and john erskine has been recalled from utah..interesting stat though is that the stars are 1-0-1 vs san jose this yr(however that was the old stars with audette, lumme, etc) so i dont know how much stock i put in that...

from covers.....
Recent Trends
SJ is 5-1-1 ATS on two days rest this year.
SJ is 7-0-1 ATS in their last eight games overall.
The over is 9-5 when the Sharks are on the road.
DAL is 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall.
The over is 6-0-1 in the Stars last seven games overall.
DAL is 6-1-2 ATS in the last nine meetings.

this is of course a big pacific division game as the stars trail the sharks by 3 pts i think. you would think that scenario might lead you towards the under but how in the world can you play a stars under right now? belfour has really struggled when dallas controls the puck and gets the majority of shots(this happened on friday against calg) but san jose should be able to control the puck tonight as well. tough call for me, chenker, i definitely would not play an under right now and if it was anything but a pacific division game, i would play the over. i agree with what you said, it should be a tough divisional game and that is my only reservation on playing the over 5. sorry this reply is such a rambling piece of garbage, just started typing and things come out strangely...like i said i have some more notes in my thread, especially on dallas' lack of home ice advantage with the new arena(i dont know if i can explain it enough just how lacking the crowd is at this new arena, this place is so huge, you just cant hear the rowdies in the nosebleed section) etc..will try to find some more info, later
