I say it like the bug. Black people around here, however say it like haunt, and they also say axe for ask. They also add an 'r' in to the word question (querstion), so it's "I needs to axe u a querstion.

I prefer to speak English. In English, we generally attempt to pronounce based on spelling. Obviously, the correct answer is "Haunt".

haunt from mn,but never told anyone but born and early years in des miones iowa.iowa a great wastland nothing but corn fields,and a few dog tracks!

Mama, I don't want to hyjack your thread, but another word that has similar pronounciations is Lawyer.

I use the "law-your".....but I hear some say "loy-yer. Which is it?

I've honesty use both interchangeably. Must be because I grew up in WI but my local "metro" area was Minneapolis/St. Paul. Got a little of both.
