THURS. RECAP....1-3-4700
4th straight losing day, its been ruff
ive had 12 losses this week
9 have been by 1-run or in extra innings.
weve been in every game but 3
so no panic here. itsa a long season
and this is just a bad stretch where
everything is falling against. these stretches
even out over course of season.
angles i use are time tested and very
solid, very confident plus big money in oct.


ALSO, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INSIGHT
on the odds on ariz/wsox.....ariz. favored?? at wsox.
zona losing team 13-24 at wsox 18-18
zonas bats came somewhat alive in milw.
but wsox have been poiunding ball all year.
pitching matchup fairly even
b.mccarthy vs. old team??
i mean mccarthy is nothing special??
he is not enuff to be fav. on road
scratching my head with this??
i would have wsox favored here 130 to 140 easy

Life long Sox fan here and I don't know why Zona is favored. I will do my best to make a case for the line:

Zona actually has a winning record on the road at 10-9, while they are 3-15 at home (hard to believe).

Zona has won 5 of their last 7

Sox just came off the Cross-Town Classic and it could be a let down spot (although the CTC is not what it used to be so I don't think this is much of an issue)

Andre Rienzo - stinks.

With that being said Brandon McCarthy is far from an Ace and the Sox lineup is better than Zona's. This looks like some stinky bait and I am not biting. Vegas is just asking for Sox bettors.

Another warm day in Chicago and the wind will be blowing out. The over will cash easily. That is the play.

Line may reflect the results of McCarthy's last 3 outings in which he allowed just 3 earned runs in 19 innings of work. :shrug: However, he did give up 17 hits & came away with a 1-2 record in those games against three of the worst hitting teams in the Majors(Padres, Phillies & Cubs). White Sox have a better line-up than those three & although Rienzo is average @ best Chicago is 3-0 in his starts this year. Also, Jose Abreu is listed as questionable. Not sure if I'll wager on this contest or not but it would have too be the White Sox or nothing for me.

McCarthy has pitched great last 3 starts, and I mean as in top 5 in baseball and with a windy day in Chicago, his GB tendency has a better chance to thrive than Rienzo's sucky stuff. I really like Az, but was expecting a better line.

And there's the possibility that Abreu doesn't play, he was taken out last night in the ninth because he was limping with ankle pain, he suffered this same thing through spring training.

Yeah I too think they suck, but they are middle-top of the pack and have been actually better than Chicago's in ERA, FIP, WAR, whatever statistic you like. Thanks for the feedback. GL.
