Steel, can i ask why you like Army so much? Im just curious as it looks like rutgers should be able to run and pass all over that defense, as well as shut down army's offense. if they stuff the triple option, its over. plus army cant score on anybody. what is making you chose army as a "big play"? i have always respected your picks, that is the reason i am asking.

just got home saw you guys wondering about the army play.....

well quickly......i use 4-situational angles for college foots....i like to think these angles are unique....but basically they play off teams last game and how they will react in this game....
anyway, army shows up a play on 1-angle and rutgers shows up as a play against on another.
so this is a combo play for me...which ive only had 1-this yr. la-monroe in week 4 i believe...a 5-pt. dog winner....


but lookin at team stats in this game and also the fact that everyone 69% is on rutgers.....also the rainy weather forcasted should i believe benefit army....makes me like it even more

not sure why everyone keeps saying army wont be able to run on rutgers????

hers some stats.....that dont back that up.

rutgers has played 4-real teams......pitt-cinn-fla.int-myd-.....throw out stats from howard and tex. southern.

of these 4-teams....pitt. and cinn. would be classified as strong runnin teams.....myd. and fla. int both are poor rush teams....myd. avg 100 and fla. INT avg. 85.

both pitt. and cinn. exceeded their season rush avg. vs. rutgers.....pitt. season avg. is 174 they rolled up 223 vs. rutg......cinn season avg. 146..they went for 168 vs. rutg.

additional rutgers negatives....throwing out howard and tex. southern games....rutgers has 1-win by 12 pts plus....road win vs. an up and down myd team.....other than that theyve lost to pitt. and cinn....and beat fla. int by at 8 home...
not exactly great credentials to be laying 11 on road....


some army positives.......

army has played 7-games this year....in each of these games they have rushed for more yards against each team than that teams season def. rush avg.
east. mich season def. rush avg...248...army rushed for 300
duke....season def. rush avg....150.....army rushed for 266
ball st....season avg...158.....army went for 207.
iowa st...season avg...140.....army 186
tulane.....season avg...192.....army 196
vandy.....season avg.....170....army 222
temple.....season avg....105.....army 182.

look at army home games...and how their defense performed.....

on both rush and pass defense they held all 4-opponents under their current season avg.
1-exception ball st passed for more yards.
in the rush defense catgegory they held all 4-teams under their season avg.

so im looking at army that shows up as a combo angle play for me....as a 11 pt. home dog....that statistically at home should have the rush advantage on both sides of the ball...plus pass defense advantage.....against a team that has 1-quality win to speak of......couple in the weather....and army running the ball.....fast game...ill take the 11

Thanks for the nice replys....i just wanted to show that alot of thought go into my plays....not just typing in teams....even though i been chopping wood so far...think im due for a few big weeks...my bad if anyone followed army play....i stepped out on army big but have no-regrets...think was right side and cover ez without block punt td and 2nd. half fumbles.
statistically played out just like i thought it would.
very even game army defense held them in it but there was just only so much they could do....just to many fumbles from offense....army.had 2-chances for the back-door but give rutgers credit the shut them down.....
