some stuff...

interesting too..:mj07:

Ben Roethlisberger had his second straight game without an interception last week. The Steelers are now 24-6 all-time when Big Ben goes without an INT (5-0 this season).

New England went to Miami and dismantled the Dolphins, 48-28, and has now alternated wins and losses in each of its last five contests. The Patriots put up 530 yards against Miami and have recorded back-to-back 500+ yard games for the first time in franchise history.
[Cassel has major $$$$$ coming his way from his new team next season.]

Matt Cassel recorded his second consecutive 400-yard passing performance last weekend, becoming the first quarterback in Patriots' history to do so. The last NFL QB with back-to-back 400+ yard passing games was Billy Volek of the Titans in December of 2004.

Randy Moss had three touchdown catches for the seventh time in his career last Sunday and passed Cris Carter for third place on the all-time list with 132 receiving TDs. Among active players, only Terrell Owens (138) and LaDainian Tomlinson (135) have more overall touchdowns than Moss' 133.

Pittsburgh allowed just 43 rushing yards in Week 12 ? the seventh straight and 10th time this season that opponents have failed to top the century mark on the ground. The Steelers lead the league in rush defense and their 66.5 yards per allowed in 2008 is currently best in franchise history.

The Steelers have 37 sacks in 2008 (second in NFL behind Philadelphia's 39 entering Week 13 play) and 30 of those have been by their linebackers ? most of any linebacking corps in the league.

Including the playoffs, New England has beaten Pittsburgh six of the last seven times the two teams have met.

The last time the Steelers won a game in Foxboro was in 1997 when Kordell Stewart led Pittsburgh to a 24-21 overtime victory over Drew Bledsoe and the Patriots.

Could this be the start of a 3 game losing streak for the Steelers

Cassel shines as Pats beat Steelers

Cassel shines as Pats beat Steelers

There might not be any surer bet in this unstable economy than the big-bucks Matt Cassel is going to get as a free agent this offseason. But why look too much into the future when he's on a roll like he's been, this week beating the Steelers 31-19.

The Patriots scored 24 unanswered points in the second half to turn a 19-7 deficit into a 31-19 win in a game that pushes the Patriots to a mark of 8-4 heading into the stretch run of the season.

Cassel completed 24/34 passes for 291 yards and four touchdowns in another scintillating performance for the league's rising star. A win that also helps solidify the Patriots chances of pushing their way into the postseason.

Im sorry if that hefty 3.5 RYPA doesnt stand out to me, or those big name RB's Kevin Faulk, BenJarvus Green, Sammy Morris :mj07:. Steelers defense will stuff the non existant running game for NE today and force Cassel into a lot of mistakes, as I said Cassel will be exposed today, play Pitt on the ML.

Ben is garbage when he plays a D that gives him any pressure whatsoever. He looks brilliant when he plays a lower tier defense (ala McNabb), but when faced with pressure, he becomes very ineffective.

Things to think about
Bryant McFadden starting CB and Deshea Townsend NickelBack both could be back for todays game and Willie Parker practiced Thursday and Friday. Steelers played Thursday night, extra time to prepare. look at the 1st game played on Thursday night Jets vs Pats, the next week both teams won on the road, Jets beating the Titans and the Pats beating the Dolphins. Matt Cassel 1st time facing the #1 Steeler Defense coached by Dick Lebeau who has extra time to prepare with a possibilty of having starters back. The Steelers signed former No#1 pick Cb Fernando Bryant about 2 weeks ago the last team he played with I believe was the Pat's. The Pat's will go 3 wide and try to spread out the steelers D. The Steelers will throw alot today also Big Ben has been checking down alot throwing more to the running backs and tight ends. the BEST BET is the OVER in this game. Finally the Pat's are coming off 2 straight divisions game could have a let down here also.

And how is this different from any other QB in this league?

It doesnt matter... Manning, Brees, Brady, Roethlisberger. Any QB that is running for his life and has zero time to throw the ball will look bad. I think Ben could be as good as anyone in this league with an offensive line and a running game. Sad thing is, the Steelers offensive line is just awful and Ben takes the brunt of all the critisism.

With the Steelers D this game is a coin flip. Anyone that compares the Dolphins D from last week to Pitt is just wrong. JMO...
