DIG DEEPER:
Bucs 5-1 ATS last 6 Monday nighters.
Bucs 5-1 ATS last home game.
Bucs 6-0 ATS favorites 3-7 points.
Bucs 5-2 ATS last 7 on MNF.
Bucs 3-0 ATS vs AFC North this year.
Bucs 8-2 ATS on grass.
Steelers 8-2-1 ATS dog 3 or more.
Steelers 5-0 ATS before Ravens.
Steelers 1-4 ATS last road game.
Steelers won last year's meeting 17-10.
Steelers 10-3 ATS last 13 as dog.
Steelers 14-5 ATS last 19 on MNF.
Steelers 4-9 ATS on grass.
CONCLUSION:
Lee Flowers' assessment of the Bucs following last year's game:
"They talk so much, and they go to the Pro Bowl because they talk," Flowers said. "They ain't nothing but paper champions. That's all they are, and that's all they're ever going to be."
Tonight, Lee Flowers will eat his words. The Bucs are battling Green Bay and Philly for home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Tampa Bay needs home field more than the other two teams if it is going to win a championship. Pittsburgh can win its division with a win tonight, but the Steelers are virtually a lock to make the playoffs, regardless what happens tonight. Don't worry about Shaun King starting in place of Brad Johnson tonight. King is 15-9 as a starter. The Steelers sacked Johnson 10 times in last year's meeting, so King actually is a better matchup against this defense because of his mobility in the pocket. Pittsburgh's defense is good, but it is nowhere near as good as Tampa Bay's defense, especially when the Bucs are at home. I see the Bucs winning this game by 6-10 points.
