GW- $3.98 here  we do about a gallon a day , thats $27.86 a week in milk and $100.00 per week in gas (just my car/bus as Kosar would call it.) , that is 127.86 in gas and milk . I can't help to wonder how the normal average Joe is making it!!!!!!!!!

BTW- that was good blitz:D

There are a lot of folks who can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in America.

Well, there's a very simple answer......Nobody bothered to check the oil.

We just didn't know we were getting low. The reason for that is purely geographical.

All our oil is in Alaska, Texas, California, and Oklahoma.

All our dipsticks are in Washington, DC.

They have us where they want us by the balls. We only have 660 million barrels sitting in our reserves. We want to save that for when we have a war.

my question is why is our media consistently putting out trash stories on torture in Iraq and gay marriages and totally ignoring just a little investigative reporting on why OPEC has cut supply, why Iraqi oil isn't paying for the rebuilding of Iraq, etc. etc.

Issues that really matter are swept under the rug while we are constently bombarded with this headline trash every day

Doc I found one more I agree with you on. Issues. The ones that will hurt all Americans more we here less about. Iraq oil helpng us is a wish. The French still are getting over 30% of Iraq oil. Those same french that wont help. OPEC plays games always has.
Canada Thank God in there humble way helps us with oil more then anyone. That should not give us a pass on developing the ways to conserve. We just keep on going as if we should have all The oil we want. The hell with the rest of the world.

First of all ... get over this "record price" nonsense. Once again the media is screaming "record gas prices" to anyone who will read, view or listen. You cannot put forth a legitimate comparison of gasoline prices over the years unless you adjust those prices for inflation. When you do adjust gas prices for inflation you will find that the end of the Carter administration Americans were paying an average of $2.91 per gallon for gasoline. You won't hear this reported on ABC, CBS, NBC or CNN. You did hear this reported last night on Fox News Channel. That's why the left hates Fox News.

Sure...oil is up to over $40 a barrel..but guess what? Your SUV doesn't run on crude oil, does it? Nope. That oil has to be refined, and we haven't built a new refinery in the United States since 1976. What's more, some of the refineries we do have are shutting down because they simply cannot afford to meet some of the new environmental standards we've created. What about building new refineries? Yeah ... try to get that by the anti-capitalist, environmentalist socialists. Oil companies are left simply trying to increase the capacity of the refineries they do have.

Speaking of the environmentalists ... don't forget the special anti-pollution blends the refineries are having to put out for the summer months. This means that they have to stop production while they shift to the new blends. This adds to the supply difficulties.

Then there's China. China's economy is growing like a field of weeds. They are demanding a greater and greater share of the world's supplies of crude oil. Greater demand + limited supply = higher prices.

You could always move to Europe, where gas runs over $5 a gallon.

Amen DJV...a new record for me today...I had used less than 3/8 of a tank in my Chevy V-6 and paid $24.25...a new record! Thanks, GW! You hit it right DJV...spin, spin, spin...whatever makes them feel justified to pay an outrageous amount per gallon of gasoline.

Wolfowitz misunderestimated the effects on this war and the Strategery the Arabs would employ.
